walk in place looks smells great the order was simple.
2 brisket sandwich one regular one double stacked received 2 with barely any brisket in portions being ordered stacked expecting more was disappointed about it being was charged. For sides i had a very extremely small portion of beans and slaw which was the only highlight i had , being the slaw was more tender than the beef and beans had more flavor.
I ordered then also a side of okra and corn nuggets then was giving app sizes and charge app prices as this was annoying cause was more than i wanted though worked out cause i was hungry being i took a few bites of the sand which and then couldn't chew it was it couldn't even pull it apart the few lil bites able to chew up a bit was tough a bit but pure fat as 80% the sandwich was.
I did ask about the tenderness of the brisket before ordering as well nd told everyone loves it and very tender tho she never ate it as well as asked about Brunswick stew and was no information given on the type of stew besides it has vegies in it. So opted out of trying that which now regreat hungry later.
Shortly after being high disappointed brought up to the server the portion sizes was to big as ordered sides not appetize the brisket wasn't editable and shortly had her take the full plat away she then asked me if i wanted a new plate s lost my appetite over being hurt and angry as recovering from a injury to my leg. i just wana go home and go to bed, she then came back and gave me a 5$ off coupon on next visit not valid for today use (LOL) Then told me the manager states that everyone cooks differently and the food was fine. Even tho i literally couldn't eat it and without a doubt will not order again from here so gave the coupon to another patron close by.
Leading to service i was un happy with resolution when you leave 90% of your food think that shows it was not enjoyed when u pil and show the fat only to server and that you cant even rip apart the meat that shows that its beyond tough but im only a consumor.
The rest rooms was foul as i have wrapped open sores and had to use the restroom very badly the cleanliness worried me as well s almost slipped n bathroom and had to trouble holding the doro and my utilizing my crutches to brace door open it was slow sunday instead of employees laughing and chating about they could have offered to help the door but i didnt ask for help as was upset so i guess thats on me none the less i did almost slip multiple times on way to stall due to restroom messes well say.
Im not saying everyone experience is as mine but i wil not return due to my experience between not being able to eat my meal being charged more then given even based on menu as well and then having sides up charged to appetizers was unprofessional as hell. Yes people cook differently but should care about yoru consumer and when charge for the food should make sure its editable. Im unsure if this is a rare occurrence o happens alot but they way some customers was treated and the food the was giving in prior reviews also leads me to think this isn't the first time someone left hungry and paying quite a ticket price.
On bright side girlfriend cheesy fries was good my friends brisket sandwhich was half chews spit back on the plate which and daughter fish sandwhich was quite good she says. So if i recommend anything it would be stick to the friend okra you cant really go wrong and friend fish and hopefully you dont get larger portions and over charged like i have.
*edit wasnāt sure how to respond but attaching receipt possibly click the wrong adress in the review as can see on Receipt 705 s lane ave Jacksonville if I wasnāt in so much pain and diss comfort would have complained to manager personally tho no manger came just sent Kelly back letting me know ppl cook differently and gave me a silly 5$ coupon to use on the next visit basically not addressing a consumer that was extream dissatisfied. And...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisclosure: This review is mostly for those who are reading the reviews before ordering through delivery (Especially Uber Eats & I will be leaving a review for them as well). For my recent and disappointingly last order, I also called them (I had to call back 5 times to make sure someone answered), to ask if they ran out of my missing items to be sure being that Uber Eats started to reject refunding me my money for other orders with missing items as well. Being that I realized spending $25 Ubering to and from the store for a few missing items would be unreasonable due to the intentions of saving money, I left it alone and am praying that I can dispute the charge with my bank rather than dealing with Uber Eats pocketing my money. Aka: No personal vehicle.
Photo 1 is an example of why I chose to order two more times from this establishment. I received my sides, my extra sauces (paid for), all flats (I paid extra for that as well), and tossed in the sauce. I was overjoyed on this night because when Iām craving BBQ, they came through. Packaged beautifully & correctly. The same for my fiancĆ©. So I thought to myself āIf Iām going to order from any BBQ place, itāll be Bonoās!ā. On top of that, it was 30 minutes or so before close due to late night cravings and I was worried that theyād reject the order and/or treat it carelessly. Iām a foodie on top of that and I am currently eating for two so it was money well spent being that I am frugal with my finances especially with inflation.
Photo 2: Is the 3rd order (Most recent & the reason behind this review being that Iāve lost hope & have given up the love for my favorite BBQ spot). Third time is the charm, right? Not with this store. This experience was similar to the second⦠no tossed wings & missing items. My fiancĆ© ordered a small two meat combo (Pork & Brisket) & only received his brisket. I ordered all flats, tossed in sauce, side salad, extra sauces (paid for) and two Mac n cheeses as a side. I only received dry wings, 1 Mac n cheese, and a few sauces. He ordered extra sauces as well for his two meat combo that turned into just one.
In conclusion, if you live nearby and/or have a vehicle I do recommend checking your food before leaving the store. The manager who I assume I was speaking to tonight indeed apologized once I explained the situation & he asked for my name & had no issue fixing the problem. However, this is the only time that I called & itās more than once that the employees chose to half-ass our order. I even simplified it this time only adding two sides being that I wanted to balance my cravings with a salad which I didnāt receive thinking that itās the extra sides that confuses them. Itās just very disappointing to have reasonable hope for a complete order that Iāve spent over $50 for when I try to make sure I eat all that Iāve paid for so I donāt feel like Iām wasting my own money. Please double check your order, donāt hesitate to speak up, & donāt feel bad for speaking up...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food is nice. However the customer service could use some improvement. It's a toss up. First and foremost, you can definitely anticipate a wait. My first visit I was greeted by a young lady who was either having a terrible day or we were divorced in a previous life. She seemed angry towards me even though I'd never met her before. In fact, she seemed angry with ALL of the customers and appeared to much rather be somewhere else. ANYWHERE other than at work. No " Hi, how can I help you?" Or "Thank you, please come again" either. On my second visit, the woman who greeted me was the complete opposite. Very courteous, polite, professional, and even though my order was misunderstood and incorrect, she made the error a pleasant experience and was actually the determining factor on whether or not I'd patronize their establishment again. (I will.). The inside or the business is closed, post-pandemic and there's usually no one at the window where you order... Unless there's already a line when you arrive. Yet they have "Please don't knock on the window" signs taped to the window. After several attempts on different occasions, I've never had anyone answer the phone when attempting to call in an order. I've looked inside and the place has seemed deserted. I thought they were closed, like, closed DOWN until after a few minutes I saw a lone person walk by. So again, if you're simply a fan of their food, be prepared to wait. The biggest irony in all this is... There's a TIP jar next to the window. Here's a tip: ...
