Champion’s Mexican Sports Bar — Restaurant in Jacksonville

My fiancé and I went to this place looking for some tacos. I have this thing where every new place I go, I have to get some tacos. I was a bit skeptical at first since I am not a big fan of bars, but after seeing the reviews and pictures, I had to try it. We had Nico as our waiter. He was super friendly and was great with his recommendations. We had the flautas as our appetizers and a side of the guacamole dip for our chips. The birria tacos aren't listed on their menu, but I had to ask Nico if they had them, and they did. I also ordered one steak and mushrooms taco (Don't remember the name). The birria tacos came with the consume, which I was super happy about. The tacos were delicious! It was very tasty and juicy, and it was nicely plated. My fiancé had a steak platter, which he ate in seconds. We were so satisfied and stuffed that we didn't have any room for dessert. This place is amazing, 10/10. We sat outside during the sunset and really enjoyed the atmosphere, cute lighting and hilarious sign that says something like “tacos do the booty good.”

We ordered the queso and esquite as appetizers and they were delicious, generous servings. We tried one of their quesadillas, the 3 Mexican street tacos, and a few of their original tacos, all perfection and mouth watering flavor. We also tried their margaritas and loved the guava one. (They even do “SuperBowl” sized margs, a great option to share or enjoy alone). The Al Pastor was delicious, juicy, tender, flavorful, you HAVE to try it. They even have a vegan taco and other options that do not have meat.

We stopped by this place on a Sunday afternoon and we were all so impressed at the freshness and tastiness of the food, the ambience, and the customer service. All top notch!! we all kept talking about how good it was as we were eating. Very fresh generous portions worth every dime. We ordered the California burrito, the street tacos, a steak taco salad, and a shrimp and steak quesadilla. All outstanding. Everyone raved about their dish. I also ordered a dragon fruit margarita, which was fantastic. Also, the salsa that came with the chips at the table was also delicious!! we will most definitely be back very soon!
