Chellos is undoubtedly my favorite pizzeria in the USA. Their pizzas are simply divine, comparable to the best Brazilian pizzerias I've ever tried. That's why we've become regular customers and are always eager to savor their delicious creations.
The atmosphere of the pizzeria is very family-friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable to visit with my wife and our two-year-old son. We know we can go without hesitation because it feels like home.
The location of Chellos is also a positive aspect as it is easily accessible and has plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot. This greatly facilitates the lives of customers, especially families with young children.
The service at the pizzeria is really good. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very polite. We always feel welcomed and well taken care of during our visit. It's a pleasure to be served by such friendly people.
In addition to the amazing pizzas, Chellos also offers other food options, which is great for those times when we want to try something different. The menu's diversity is a strong point as it caters to all tastes and preferences.
However, I would like to make an observation about an aspect that I believe could be improved. I understand that the pizzeria offers a buffet-style option as the main choice, but it would be great if it were also possible to order pizzas a la carte on days when the buffet is served. Although I understand the reasons for this restriction, I feel that it would be a way to better serve customers who want to enjoy their favorite pizza with their chosen ingredients, even during the buffet.
Another point I would like to mention is regarding the service charge (tips) payment. Sometimes, I noticed that the service charge is included in the middle of the bill, which can lead to misunderstandings when paying the tip correctly. I understand that many Brazilians are not accustomed to leaving a tip, but I believe it's important for the charging process to be clear and transparent to avoid any confusion. After all, we want to reward the excellent service we receive, but we also want to ensure it's done fairly.
As a father of a young child, we used to frequent the pizzeria every Friday. We loved going there and savoring the freshly baked pizza straight from the oven. Unfortunately, with the restriction on ordering pizzas a la carte, we had to try the buffet a few times, and this option hasn't...
Read moreWe were hopeful that this would be a good place to have a night out with the family. Being it was a Friday night, it was a buffet.
One of my sons and I didn’t want pizza and wanted to order off the regular dinner menu, but was told we couldn’t order off the “dinner” menu (we wanted chicken stroganoff and chicken parm). We were able to order steak and fries off the pizza menu, so we did. We ordered the picanha cooked medium and it came out overcooked and dry. My husband and other son did the buffet/all you can eat pizza. The food on the buffet looked old and and was cold, so they stuck with the pizza. The pasta looked very dry and the lasagna looked like it had been sitting out for a while. There wasn’t much else out but the pasta and salad bar. It just didn’t look very appetizing. They got their first slice of pizza after sitting there for 20 minutes….and the 2nd slice about 25 minutes after that. After we mentioned that, the pizza came out a little more frequent. I ordered a sfiha (sp?), and it was good but took about 40 minutes to get it. I had to remind the server that I had ordered it.
Then we get the bill, and it was $151 (table of 4, mind you), and included on there was an 18% service fee for large party (4 is considered large??) and then collecting separately for a tip. I was waiting for someone to come around so I could ask, but we had to get going and couldn’t wait any longer. I just paid it from Scanning my phone on the scan thing on the receipt. Most places that have charged a “service fee”, do not consider it a tip, and if they are a tip, they are normally charged for parities Of 6 or more. So, they got an 18% svc fee and a 20% tip. Someone finally came around AFTER I paid the bill and I asked them and they said the Svc Fee of 18% was considered a tip and a large party was 5 or more and then back tracked when he saw there were only 4 of us and said 4 is considered large.
I think if a table has what they consider to be a “Large Party”, it should be explained to them that there will be an 18% Svc fee charged as a TIP so the customer isn’t left wondering if the tip and svc fee are separate. I know the servers work on tips and even though it was on “ok” experience, I wanted to make sure they got a tip. We left underwhelmed — hopefully it was just an ...
Read moreWent here last night with my girlfriend on a date. She’s Brazilian so she was really looking forward to coming here, it was both our first times. We sit down, the server recommended an all you can eat pizza and market table buffet, so we both went for that.
Everything in the market table was cold, the pasta, the meatballs, everything. The Caesar salad looked like they just bought shredded lettuce and put cheese on top of it and let it sit there for hours. Everything looked unappealing.
When the pizza came around, they brought us one slice of their chicken pizza, it was cold. The next round didn’t even come by until 20 mins, and it was the last two pieces of whatever they had left.
Service was horrible, servers kept walking past us, just eying us and ignoring us. Our water was never refilled, wobbly table that I had to fix myself, and the worst part about it is that they still charged me $50 for two thin sliced pizzas and untouched cold food.
I never write reviews on anything, even if it’s bad, but last night I felt like I was genuinely robbed. Very disappointed with everything. Judging by the replies to the 1 star reviews, all I’m going to get back is probably a “thank you” if anything at all. That shows you their lack of accountability and customer service to go above and beyond to making...
