I typically don’t write reviews unless my dining experience is exceptional, but given the current economic climate, I felt compelled to share this one. I prefer to simply move on from a bad dining experience without leaving a negative review—I just choose not to return.
But spending $40—before tip—on a disappointing meal and poor service is frustrating.
This morning, at around 7:30 AM, my four colleagues and I stopped at Chili’s in Jacksonville Airport for breakfast. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. Perhaps they feel secure in their terminal location with a captive audience, but I won’t be returning.
The service was abysmal. I had to request basic utensils well after our food had arrived. I ordered an extra side, which was delivered only after I had finished my meal—and only because I followed up on it. The food lacked the care and quality you’d expect, making the high price even harder to justify.
In these tight economic times, spending $40 (before tip) on a subpar experience is unacceptable. I’d strongly recommend trying one of the other restaurants in the airport—even a simple grab-and-go sandwich would have been a better choice.
If it had just been my experience, I might have given them the benefit of the doubt, but all five of us had the same disappointing encounter. That says something. Hopefully, they take this feedback to heart and work on improving both service and...

Did not have the best experience before my flight. I tried to order some food, and was instructed to use the to go kiosk - no problem. When ordering, the new system had some glitches. The waitress helped me and said she would make sure my fries were on the side (even though it only let you select mac and cheese as a side). I got my order about 30 minutes later, no fries. When I asked for them - they said sure no problem. After another 15 minutes, the cook came back from the bathroom and when the waitress asked him to make a side of fries, he brushed her off. My flight was boarding and I had to go - without the other half of my meal. When I asked again about it - they just said "oh... sorry". The food I did get was cold after waiting so long. Also, the location closed at 9 and at 8 they were cleaning and sweeping, and were annoyed that I was there ordering... would eat at the other outlets if possible before this...
Read moreSkip it. This is barely a Chili's and you'll likely be disappointed unless you're just looking for pricey booze.
•The menu is severely limited and despite actually advertising Chips & Salsa (arguably Chili's signature appetizer) there are none here. Not an option. Just weird.
•They're pushing you to order through the app. This is both confusing and not very efficient. Did we have a waitress? If yes, why did we never see her? If no, why are you asking me for a tip when I check-out electronically.
•Service is SLOWWW. Dear Chili's corporate, instead of investing in useless order/checkout technology how about a display that indicates how long orders are taking on average to be served. After all...this is an airport and getting your food on time might help your patrons trying to catch their flights. Just a thought.
•Everything is sticky. This place is gross and needs a bath and a remodel. I get this is a high traffic location in an actual airport, but you close every night. Clean...
