China Moon — Restaurant in Jacksonville

This was my first and only visit so far but I will definitely be back. I thought my former favorite place was good Chinese food. But now i know that they are not. I got Egg Rolls, Honey Chicken with House Lo Mein. Everything was fresh and hot. I ordered online very easily, and it was ready when it said it would be.

The Egg Rolls were amazing, flaky, and delicious.

The Honey Chicken was glazed in what I can only assume was pretty much, real Honey. Not that thin, syrupy substance that I'm used to from other places. It wasn't drowned, but rather plenty enough to coat it well. There wasn't even much left in the bowl. It stayed on the Chicken, which had a crisp, airy batter, and a tender juicy center.

The Lo Mein had so much meat that there wasn't all that many noodles. if I had one critique, that would be it. But is that really a bad thing? The beef I saw, looked pulled instead of processed. The chicken and pork was in big, tender, juicy chunks as well. Everything was dynamite! I'm trying the Bourbon Chicken and Veggie...

I've ordered from here a few times. Food has always been mediocre, but edible non the less. This wasn't the case tonight. I only go here because it's close to home. Lo mein was okay, the beef and broccoli was not. First off I could smell a weird odor before I even opened the container. After opening the container it smelled fishy. The meat was disgusting and actually made me feel sick. It did not taste like beef at all. I hope it wasn't cat, but I fear it may have been. As stated it had a weird fishy smell and now my throat feels itchy. I have a shell fish allergy and I believe the meat was cooked in the same pan as shrimp. No restaurant should ever do this because of allergies. Needless to say, I didn't finish my food. I want to take what's left back, which is 90% of it and ask for a refund, but I doubt they'll give it and it'll just be a waste of gas and time. I guess I just threw 30 bucks in the toilet. If 0 stars was an option i would have used it. This place a few years ago was great. I'm not sure what happened but during covid we tried ordering and a couple dishes in our order were ok but the other 2 were not edible nor were the egg rolls. Food tasted spoiled. Being a forgiving/understanding person i gave it another try several months later. It had gotten worse. The "chicken" was funky and not in a cool, hip way! The egg rolls tasted like they were thrown away and dug out of the garbage a week later then refried. We could not eat our meals and said never again. Im not sure what they are selling to stay in business but it can't...
