Eli the owner of this establishment is a wonderful person. She acted like my Mom from the second I walked in, serving me a big plate of home cooked food, with all the warmth and care youâd expect of your own mother. My wife and I both had sliced lamb plates with Greek salad, yellow and basmati rice along with a big scoop of tzatziki. It was delicious! Afterwards Eli let us taste the chicken kebab which was outstanding as well. I will have that next time, as it was loaded with flavor. Lastly we had the walnut baklava and the cheese baklava, both were fresh and so delicious. Iâm sad that I only bought 4 pieces. Highly recommend the cheese baklava. It is a light cream with no deep cheese flavor yet a texture of something similar to clotted cream and perfectly elevates the flavor of the ghee layered between the crisp layers of phyllo. Sorry not photos. I honestly was not expecting such an amazing experience. Thank again Eli. We will be back. (Hope I spelled her...
Read moreI love this place. The food is amazing and they remember me when I walk in the door. They are a great addition to the neighborhood. That said, DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM GRUBHUB for this place. Food was over 1.5 hours late (on top of an original 1 hour estimated delivery time frame). Food ordered at 3:05 with est. delivery of 4:05; started calling and having GrubHub call at 4:30 and told the driver had picked up the food and was on his way to me (I live 5 minutes away); at 5:05 got through again - still no food and told them their services were no longer needed and asked for money back, told I'd have to wait for a manager to get in at 6; at 5:45, my doorbell rang and told me he'd only received the call 10 minutes prior to come pick up the food, that he worked for the pizza place across the street, it was his second day and I'd need to call Choban about the refund. Beyond upsetting because it really is good food. Just go pick it up or...
Read moreI wasn't aware that this was an authentic Greek restaurant but I soon found out that it was. Seeing that I'm from Chicago I am pretty familiar with gyro sandwiches. And then that Valdosta doesn't have any authentic gyro sandwiches I couldn't wait to get to Jacksonville to get me one. But at this restaurant they gave me hummus some different kind of cucumber salads and a lot of strange stuff that I wasn't familiar with cabbage roll and things of that nature... But for my overall experience I was happy after I returned my food and explain to them exactly what I wanted and they were happy to oblige me which I greatly appreciate it I will be back but not for the hummus grape leaf raps or the cucumber salad just give me a plane gyro with onions tomatoes and tzatziki sauce...
