CJ's Crab House — Restaurant in Jacksonville

When I called to place an order the guy on the phone was extremely rude. He was adamant that they don’t take fried food orders on the phone. It was 8pm they close at 10pm. I said I understand and tried to order my steam food order and he was rude about that so I said no problem I will just make the order in person. I got to the shop at 8:30 pm. They told me they were no king frying food because their guy who fries food no longer wanted to for the day. I placed my steam platter order and also ordered other things and asked to use the bathroom. Before I placed my order I asked what things came with the blue crab platter. He told me corn and potatoes. I said okay I’d like that and May I also get an order of crawfish and shrimp. Same things I tried to order on the phone when another guy who was no longer there when I got there got rude with me. When I came out the bathroom I got my food and left. I dropped my friend off to her house which isn’t far from the rest and her food was ice cold. I knew mine had to be as well but I didn’t worry because I had to drive back to Georgia. We attempted to be big backs and ordered the large family tray (for only two people mind you); our eyes were clearly bigger than our stomachs. The original tray comes with eggs, potato, corn, sausage, blue crab, snow crab legs, shrimp, crawfish, black and green mussels. We don’t like crawfish or blue crab so they were fine with substituting with more snow crab legs & mussels, without any upcharge (or pushback, or weird attitude). It didn’t take them a ridiculous amount of time to make the food, they wrapped things up so we didn’t have to worry about the sauce dripping in the car. We ran down as best as we could on that tray lol it was so good! Everything was fresh, the sauce was good (was a combo of their garlic sauce and special sauce).. I slept good after this meal lol....

First time visiting and will definitely be back! I am from SC and I always stop at that Winn Dixie to get Chek sodas and as I was leaving I saw the sign for CJ's and decided to stop in before hitting the road. It's like a typical Seafood market where you can buy fresh seafood and also have it prepared there. I got the fried shrimp and fish and it was good and fresh with great flavor. The men working in the establishment were very friendly and one of them even took out a live blue crab for my one year old to see. Definitely will be visiting again when...
