Dicks Wings and Grill - Yellow Bluff — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Went to Dicks on July 29, 2019 around 8:30 pm. This ranked among the most horrible service I have ever received. First, two women were serving, one white and one black. I am a minority. Let me say that the white female server was determined not to help. She looked over me and worked to fill cups until she had to walk to the register in front of the takeout area to do something for people at one of the tables. I asked a question. At that point, she offered me a menu and walked off. It was the black female server who had to come take my order. It should be noted that the black female server was also working the dining area. Shortly after my order was taken a minority male customer entered the establishment. The white female server did everything she could not to serve him. She went to tables and avoided the takeout counter. Again, the black female server had to help him. A few minutes later, a second minority male walked in to the takeout counter. At this point, the white female server worked to organize condiments which were already organized on empty tables. The second minority male customer went to the bar to order at which point the bartender walked over to the takeout counter. At this point somehow, the white female server noticed the minority male customer standing there. She indicated to the bartender that he did not have to come over, but yes he did. The male minority customer heard her make the comment and asked why she had not served him. The white female server explained that she thought the black female server had taken his order. Never once did she ask him if his order had been taken while she was organizing things already organized on empty tables. Also, remember, she worked to organize empty tables for the ten minutes that the second male minority customer stood there before going to the bar. To add insult to injury, my order which had been placed before both male minority customers came into the establishment, was not ready until 20 minutes after the first male minority left and 15 minutes after the second male minority left. With all this said, you would think it could not get worse, but yes it did, as my wings were WELL over cooked (burned). Needless to say, I will never visiting Dick's Wings again. If you want wings, go to A&D Buffalo Wings at RiverCity. At A&D Buffalo Wings, they actually welcome minorities and serve them timely and fairly. So I enjoyed a nice meal of spices with a side of boneless wings and a dab of sauce.( Picture will explain ) So enough is enough. We have ordered here a few different times over the past year and it has been more so awful then great. The front of house staff is usually nice and friendly. In most cases the orders are put in correctly. We have also eaten in person and have had a few good and a few bad experiences. To say this place is anywhere close to consistent is a joke unless your going just to get your buzz going then at that point anything tastes good. I'm not sure who is in the kitchen but they need to have the spice rack locked up. I have ordered the same meal from other dicks wings locations and not only do they visually look different they taste drastically different. This is sad excuse for a meal and also is poor quality control to let an order leave like this. We have also had burgers here recently and the meat was also over seasoned and even almost salty in flavor. I hate to be well that person but this place either needs to get it together or close the doors. The attached photo may not do this justice but there are multiple wings that are just coated in this spice and it's just bad. The flavor of the sauces is good on its own. And at other locations when you add heat to the sauce flavor like mild med or hot it's usually some sort of added sauce they mix into the flavored sauce not a bunch of this spice. Again this location is the only one that does this. It's sad to say but I think that's a wrap for me being a customer to this place. My fiancé and I stopped eating at this location with the prior management. We heard there were new owners and that they cleaned house and we gave them another shot. We really liked it. To say the least they went down hill VERY quickly.

But this time was the last straw. We couldn’t get a hold of anyone initially. Once we did get a hold of someone and got our order in they told us it would be 20-30 minutes. Okay that’s fine. We sat around for 20 minutes and it’s about a 10 minute drive. We get there and my fiancé goes inside to pick up our order and is met immediately with a STRONG smell of weed. Tons of people waiting on to go orders. We had to wait an audition 15-20 minutes for our food that “wasn’t ready” after the first 30 minutes that we already waited after placing the order. While in the building he notices other customers complaint of stale beers, sticky floors and understaffed. once our food was ready to go he proceeds to check out and is met with a rude waitress who gives him a dirty look.

Whatever we leave we get home and start sitting down to eat. Upon opening the box we were met with extreme disappointment. The wings were barely breaded, the portions in the fries were maybe 10 per box, and the food was fing cold. We waited 45 minutes for cold food??? Plus the drink I received was flat (fountain coke). The amount of money we spent on dinner was not worth it. The quality and portions were not worth it. The service was not worth it.
