One of my wife’s favorite places. When I am in the dog house, we go there because it is not my favorite place. So since I am in the dog house a lot, I have strived to find my favorite thing on the menu. So far, I am making progress. First, the restaurant is very big, so there is always room for more. There is also an outside patio area but I have never seen it being used. Service is pleasant and efficient and the kitchen pays attention to special orders (no this, extra that). They have a thorough bar menu, including 50 types of tequila, which may have more to do with why my wife likes it and not so much me. Go figure, I don’t drink, so what do you think? Okay. Here is my food run down: Salsa - very runny, spice kick, I know it makes a difference for some people. Guacamole - good consistency but lacks flavor. Rice - dry, like a desert Beans - not a flavor I enjoy Chicken Fajitas - solid choice Shrimp Fajitas - shrimp were rubbery, not a solid choice Spinach Quesadilla - awful, inedible Shrimp Quesadilla - solid choice, really good. Fried Ice Cream - awesome, it is fried and it is Ice cream. If you see my wife, please tell her I am trying.

Wow. And not in a good way. The menu says $12.99 for quac. The quac must be cut with sour cream, because that's what it tastes like and you could see white swirls that didn't get mixed in. But that's not all. Wait until you get the bill and the quac's listed as $15.99. What a joke. There's a pic. I separated the portion for the kids, but that's the amount that's served. For reference, the (small) Fajitas are $18.99. Now, chips and salsa. We all look forward to some chips and salsa at a Mexican sit down restaurant, right? Sure. How about when they won't give you a second basket? What about the 1 small dish of salsa? Oh, you can have 1 refill, but then they charge you. If that's not irritating enough, how about the lackluster flavor of it all? Our server... I don't know where to start, so I won't, but just know, it wasn't a good experience. We used to like this place and we've got some standards for Mexican food. We won't be coming back. Do yourself a favor and go to Cantina Laredo at the town center. A better experience all around for the same price...maybe cheaper.

Nothing good to say about this place. There is a reason they are dead on a Saturday night with so many open tables. The steak was full of fat. After I was told $2.00 for 4 ounces of cheese which was insane that $22.99 fajitas don’t come with cheese she came back and I was offered 2 ounces of cheese for 1.25 or 4 ounces for 3.00. I chose 2 two ounce cups for 2.50 for the sake of basic math and principal. Then they come out and not only are they burnt and fatty steak, there is one teaspoon of sour cream less than what was on my daughter’s 7.99 tacos. So I ask for more and she said 2 ounce or 4 ounce. I asked if I had to pay for it the portion wasn’t right and she said I don’t work back there in the kitchen so I asked the guy in the kitchen if he could do something about the portion when he came out to the table and he said no and walked off. I will have the rest of my party of four write negative reviews as well.

Too bad the restaurant management woman had such a rude, defensive, non customer centric attitude in response to my complaint about a poorly cooked skirt steak meal….. and then ignored us/ refused to serve us after that. What a shame they don’t have any better personal and/or interpersonal skills in dealing with their patrons. I have rarely ever sent any food back anywhere; but never, ever have I been so rudely treated. There is nothing special about their menu…..Mexican is Mexican and all pretty much the same old, same old. However they do have a Cañitas La Brasa that I have had several times, always requesting it cooked “medium rare”.

The waiter took my order last night but failed to ask how I wanted it cooked. He no sooner left the table when I realized I had to tell him “medium rare”. He was nowhere to be found…..I asked a passing waitress to have him come back to me. “Two minutes” later our meals were served. One look at it and I knew it was well done shoe leather. The waiter came to check on us and I told him it was over cooked. He left and “consulted” with the woman manager. When he returned, he asked me to check the center. I told him I wanted to eat the whole steak, not just the center, but I complied and proved it was equally well done. Now the manager comes over and demands to know which waitress I had flagged down to find Pablo ( as if that should matter). I’m getting irritated now and my friend is sitting there with her dinner getting cold while this farce continues. I told her the waitress had brown hair as do all the waitresses there and I did not know what that had to do with my meal being unacceptable. The woman then proceeded to lie to me that it is “impossible to cook a skirt steak medium rare. They are all medium to well done”. Absurd! I informed her I had the same meal 3 weeks earlier and ordered it “medium rare” and it was great. She left and returned with a new steak on a plate and unceremoniously slid it off on top of the “old” one.

Neither the manager or our waiter ever returned to our table after that. The check was brought to me by another waitress……

And so much for the birthday dessert I ordered for my friend that never came……. I’ve enjoyed several meals there in the past; but this very negative experience will remind me to look for...

Had a very bad experience. The food is not authentic Mexican. My husband is Mexican so we know what to expect. Start off getting our queso with chorizo before the chips and salsa. Finally get the chips. The chips were hard and nasty. Reminded me of chips that you have in a bag and forget to seal the top and try to eat them a couple of days later - hard and nasty. So we sent them back (all the while our queso is getting cold). Finally get some more. Now they are warm, hard and nasty. How can you mess up the chips at a Mexican place? So we send those back. About this time our meal comes out. I only received half of what I ordered. I let the runner know what I was missing. Never saw him again. The waitress noted that I wasn't eating and she goes to get what I had asked for. Only brings one of the items. After two more trips finally get everything that to go with my burrito meal. So we ask to talk with the manager. He proceeds to tell me that I had to have received everything because it was on the ticket. I asked him if he thought I was lying to him as I know what I received and didn't receive. I once again broke it down for him in plain English. Then my husband asks why he couldn't have had someone cook fresh chips for us. Gave a song and dance about how they were busy - thus the reason we got cold hard nasty chips in the first place. Then he tells us the chips are complimentary anyways. My husband points out to him that chips are not complimentary when you order queso with chorizo to go with them. Finally the manager then tried to blame everything on the poor waitress. At that point, I just could not even talk to him anymore!

I won't be going back to this establishment again. There food is just not that good on a good day. I felt insulted by the manager. Very...

My fiance and I drove out of our way on a Friday night to go to this restaurant because we heard it was great, but we were very disappointed and will not return. It may be the best Mexican restaurant in the area, but mostly not the best in my area! All staff were kind, welcoming, and accommodating! Our waitress was sweet and good at recommending things. The cleanliness of the restaurant wasn't too bad either. There was a balloon photo op for valentines that we enjoyed! We ordered chips and salsa with queso and beef for an appetizer. The queso was very runny (like watery) and lacked flavor. Tje salsa wasn't too bad, but it came in a very small dish that you would finish before your chips. My honey ordered the California burrito with the fajita steak, but we have had better and it seemed pretty plain. He ordered red sauce and queso on the side to add to it, but it wasn't too much better. The steak was delicious (flavorful and tender), though. I ordered nachos with beef, Pico di Gallo, queso, guacamole, sour cream, with the refried beans on the side. They charge an extra $2 or more for jalapenoes on the side. Although they were very fresh snd spicy, its not worth the $2. The beef did not have a good flavor and the chips were soggy. The chips that were not too soggy broke off easily and could not handle just simple salsa or any topping in it. I also ordered two alcoholic beverages that were only ok. Margaritas are below average for a Mexican restaurant and their suggested Mexican drink served in a clay drink pot was not the greatest either. I like to support local restaurants and businesses when I can, but unfortunately I was not impressed. Not sure if they were having an off night or not, but they are way too pricey for...
