Golden China — Restaurant in Jacksonville

My family had been loyal customers of this restaurant for many years, often visiting multiple times a week. Unfortunately, we stopped going after a deeply concerning experience that we feel obligated to share.

During a recent visit, my mother went to pick up our usual order and noticed multiple cockroaches crawling up the wall inside the restaurant. She quietly asked for a refund, pointing out the infestation to the staff. Shockingly, the owner processed the refund without offering any apology or explanation.

This kind of issue raises serious concerns about the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen where food is being prepared. It's important to note that this restaurant shares a kitchen with A&D Wings, which makes the situation even more troubling.

We can no longer recommend this establishment and strongly urge others to consider these concerns...

This is probably the best Chinese food I’ve had. My expectations for take out Chinese aren’t very high but this place was the best value and quality. We live near king wok which is convenient and I usually get sesame or sweet and sour chicken. I always get an upset stomach for 1-2 days after - I thought it was just cause it’s fried and I usually eat all of it. HOWEVER: after eating this place I could tell the texture of the chicken was better. It wasn’t chewy or stringy. It tasted like real chicken. Best part was I ate the whole thing and didn’t get sick (not sure if that’s related but…). We got two combo plates, soup, spring rolls and dumplings (which were delicious) and it was $40. It’s an extra 5 minute drive but I’m tell you, if you need to scratch that Chinese food itch...

Had a pretty rough day so I decided to splurge and try this place out. I got the general Tso’s and some crab Rangoon. I asked in the comments section if they could spare any extra broccoli. Came home, opened the sucker up, and saw the first photo. Which I couldn’t even be mad tbh just had me laughing for a good while because yknow what, same. Plus I admittedly put in the order less than an hour before they closed so this is really my own fault lol understandable. EXCEPT as it turns out they pulled through for me and had a whole bunch stuffed underneath the chicken. 11/10 thanks for the laugh and extra broccoli haha. Not to mention the food was really good, absolutely perfect Chinese takeaway comfort food. Everything was hot and fresh. And the crab Rangoon...
