Great Wall is a true hidden gem that deserves to be shouted about! This tiny, family-owned Chinese restaurant is a masterclass in hospitality, flavor, and charm. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, welcoming vibe that made me feel right at home. The small dining area, buzzing with a chill atmosphere, is proof that great things come in small packages.
The sesame chicken combo was an absolute highlight—crispy, tender chicken coated in a perfectly balanced sweet-savory sauce, paired with fluffy fried rice and vibrant, steamed broccoli. Every bite was a delight, and the portion was generous enough to leave me satisfied but already craving my next visit. The care put into the food is evident, with flavors that feel like they’re straight from a family recipe book.
What makes Great Wall truly special is the family running it. Their genuine hospitality shines through, from checking in with a smile to ensuring every guest feels valued. It’s the kind of place where you’re not just a customer—you’re treated like a friend. The intimate setting and friendly staff create an atmosphere that’s as comforting as the food itself.
If you’re looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in a cozy, unpretentious spot, Great Wall is a must-visit. This place is a treasure, and I can’t wait to return for another plate of that incredible sesame chicken. Do yourself a favor and discover this gem...
Read moreI've been coming here almost once a month since late 2012. Depending on how busy my schedule becomes, sometimes even once a week.
The food is consistently good, almost never a problem in over 250+ completed dishes. Honestly, I don't know how you could complain. The meals are tasty, crispy, salty, sweet, crunchy, delicious. Vegetables are perfectly streamed and fried, never soggy or mushy. Noodles are firm yet soft, again never overcooked. Sauces are dark and smooth, tasty, a nice complement to every meal. Their egg rolls are fantastic, I look forward to eating them fresh from the fryer every time.
They offer a wide variety of food with a huge menu, gluten free offers, and nobody in my house has ever complained of artificial ingredients or MSG issues (I don't have any problems with them, so I wouldn't know directly). Rice noodles are actually tasty here, not some disgusting lumpy mass like other restaurants or store-bought boxes.
The people here are nice, and they've begun to recognize me on sight and over the phone. The store is clean and orderly, if a little small (still, it's a take-out place, so not an issue). The only problem is they need a better phone, since sometimes they've had...
Read moreIt was food. Not the worst Chinese I’ve ever had because that had me physical ill. This food was just bad tasting and not worth the calories. It’s the kind of bad that makes you think why waste my money when I can go to the grocery store and get better tasting Chinese food in the freezer section. I don’t even like grocery store Chinese food.
We got general Tao’s, sweet n sour chicken, pork fried rice, egg roll, wonton soup and crab Rangoon. The pork fried rice was bland and the general Taos had sugar poured on top instead of sauce (probably because this in NC). So it was dry and too sweet. It had no peppers in it. I have found that the best general Taos had those tiny chilis in it, more than 2 small stems of broccoli and actual red general Taos sauce not sugar poured on top of fried chicken.
I’m honestly really sick of wasting my time and money because a place has 5 stars on google. Reviews should come with a profile description of the reviewer.
I am a northerner from the Philly area who has had actual China town Chinese American food. So if you want that,...
