Booths are terrible and very uncomfortable bench seats with no back support at all, also I don't know if it the bench seats are too low or table is too high, I actually had to raise my shoulders and elbows in order to cut my steak! And I'm 5'10"... owner needs to do something about it, either lower the table or raising the sitting hight about 4" to 5", I'll recommend the latter as the tables look normal to me. About back support, I don't think they can fix that unless they want to buy new ones. Second complaint, I ordered an side dish and they put it straight into my already overloaded plate. I asked why, they responded "that's how we do it here" and waitress left. So I had to call the waitress again and politely asked her to bring me a plate ( I wanted to leave right away so bad but my wife stopped me and said don't worry, we just never come back here. By the way, the "Chiles toreados"side dish, that's not how are cooked or presented with two unpeeled, whole stem attached onions. It is done slightly rusted on a fire grill with sliced sweet onions, not burned on a deep frying pot! And lastly, not every body enjoys just Mexican música the banda. You should put a variety of music, Latin and English, it doesn't matter. But just banda, ranchera, rap music? I...
Read moreHole in the wall restaurant tucked away in a sketchy area.. But overall the experience was OK. All foods were delicious. Ordered cheese and guacamole dip for appetizers. We went through the tortilla chips pretty fast and they didn't refill it until I went up to the bar area and requested it. Entrées ordered were the combo platter with enchiladas and a chalupa. Had I known the chalupa contains no meat, I wouldn't have ordered it. Friends ordered a California burrito and the classic Mexican tacos. Both looked appetizing, but I was very happy with the flavors of my plate. We capped off everything with a flan and fried ice cream. They have a small grocery store area connected to the restaurant with authentic ingredients to shop for. The place is a bit cramped also. Only select few associates spoke English which just elongates the ordering process. No problem for us because my wife speaks Spanish. People dining were of Mexican descent so it seems like the place caters mostly to that crowd (we are Arab, Balkan, Black and White mixed group), servers were nice but it was obvious that we were outsiders to them and were treated as such, with people staring at us. There was enough distancing between people but no one was wearing masks except us. Probably won't...
Read moreBefore the ride back home, my wife and I, had gotten a craving for some Mexican food and we were looking for a place to have some beef stew soup (caldo de res) and some tacos. After stopping at a couple other places prior to stopping at this location (Mi Veracruz), I had become discouraged to even attempt at looking any further at other locations. So instead, I decided to just had back home. However, before I could get back on the interstate, my wife kept searching for a Mexican restaurant and found that Mi Veracruz ratings was a 4.4 stars! So, I quickly pulled over and entered the directions on the gps and started the navigation. I have to say though...I'm glad we decided to go to Mi Veracruz, the food was amazing, staff was friendly, and the service was great! And to top it all off, we had the honor of chatting with the Owner, she is an amazing and wonderful human being. After speaking with the owner, I understand why the experience was so wonderful. She is an individual who is passionate about her brand, she dedicates and prides herself in providing not only great food but also great service. So, if you're in the area and have an appetite for good food, service and experience...definitely stop by at Mi Veracruz and you won't be...
