When I was in high school back in 2006 I’m not sure what the name of this café was but I remember the people being so pleasant and so nice and just very warm feeling well I haven’t been there in years and decided to stop by before I went to work, and when I said the service was horrible, some old lady at the front was very nasty very dismissive didn’t care that I was not pleased with for one the look of the food has definitely changed I myself take pride in cooking and baking, but to see how the food was served and just reminded me of slop like they mix the food made it look like I don’t know it was just very unpleasant to the eye very unappealing, and when I asked to trade or to get something else I was responded to with very nasty condescending attitude, just very unprofessional, and she basically told me that they didn’t care if they received my Business anymore and as I reply, I don’t know if I will be back but if I come back, I will make sure I let them know the next time they make a breakfast bowl not to fry the egg and bacon together which it was barely any bacon and bacon wasn’t cooked all the way bacon is supposed to be crispy and crunchy. Well, I tell you that bacon was flimsy the pieces that you could see was just fat and it was all inside the egg I’ve never seen a scrambler a breakfast bowl serve like that in my 33 years so that was new for me and again me and my mom we used to eat at this place every morning before I went to school when I was a high school 2006, 2007. The owners must have changed because I will never spend my money there again and to be honest I’m really thinking I’m opening a breakfast shop in the old Taco Bell building across the street just to show them how you treat people into show them good quality of food. So yeah, they lost my business, but they also may have gained...
Read moreMy wife and I had lunch at Benchwarmers Cafe today. Our first time experience was great!
The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch with a variety of typical diner/cafe selections. Prices are reasonable.
I ordered the two chili and cheese dogs with fries and drink special. The chili was homemade and the all-beef dogs were good size. They added onions, relish and mustard at my request and the result was wonderful!
My wife had the double cheeseburger, fries and drink special, and it too was quite good, with fresh lettuce and sliced tomato along with other typical burger toppings.
Midway through the meal we swapped plates, with my wife enjoying half of a chili-cheese dog and me half of her double cheeseburger. Both specials were freshly prepared and delicious - we would get them again for sure!
The cafe is not fancy, but very clean and comfortable. After placing your order at a counter, they bring your food to the table.
We both agreed what made the meal special were the owner's/staff who who took our order and prepared the food. They were friendly, greeted us when we arrived and wished us a good day when we left. They tended to our needs and demonstrated they care about their customers and their business.
We'll be back soon to try their breakfast menu....
Read moreWe've never been here but passed several times on our travels. We had an appointment today and this place came up as food near us. My lady said let's try it so we did. On our way, speaking from past experiences in jax, I was like I hope it's this i hope it's that and it was all of the above! A small home cooked café that you'll regret passing by! If you want a family friendly atmosphere, Benchwarmers Cafe! If you want a meal without all the additives and unhealthy options, Benchwarmers Cafe! I think I speak for myself and my lady when I say, We definitely recommend this little café on the side of Phillips highway. The staff is friendly from their greeting to their goodbyes. The food was just about on the table before got our drinks (and did not hold back on the portions). And the menu has something for everyone to love. We loved everything about this place. Thank you for a great experience Benchwarmers Café! We will...
