MVP'S Sports Grille — Restaurant in Jacksonville

So, I've been in Jax a long time and the MVP's Sports Grille has been around a long time - and 6 miles from my house - but we never went in there until today. It's kind of hidden at the northeast corner of Atlantic and Girvin in a shopping center strip mall. It was really good - and it's definitely going to be a regular place to go. There's a huge horseshoe bar in the middle, with lots of tables and hightops, and dart machines and a pool table against a side wall, and of course TVs all over. Very modern and clean - this isn't a dive bar - but definitely gave off that cool neighborhood tavern vibe. Lots of people seemed to know each other and were having a good time watching college football. Eric was our server and was super friendly and attentive. And the food - I was told they've upped their game over the last year or so - and the menu goes well beyond "bar food." Lots of creative burgers, sandwiches, salads, apps - all good stuff. If the place's overall rating is low, it's apparently because the classic "disgruntled ex-employee" has been one-star bombing them - so it's totally undeserved. So check MVP's out and I'm pretty sure you'll find a hangout...

Bartender named buddy?? Was a total jerk and ignored quite a few costumers, including us! a few people were flagging down the waitress’s to get drinks 🤦‍♀️ which unfortunately only the rude bartenders can get them, and they snap at the servers if they tell them someone needs a drink😅 he (buddy?)was acting annoyed to do his job it was pretty awkward…. And a few of us went to play pool after we got drinks at the bar and pretty much everyone was talking about what a D bag he was 😅 Then we went back and hector was the other bartender ( which is odd having hulky and brudy guys bartending) usually it’s nice pretty girls not angry jerks…. Oh well Jacksonville is full of bars with pleasant bartenders…. Edit to the owner, you said you reviewed the footage? But I didn’t specify what night we were there lol. I get defending your employees, but jeez he was cold and rude to the point he was the joke of the night. I used no bad language lol so ok? Do not go here! The bartenders are rude and the owner Lou is even worse! If you try to sit at the bar in order food from the Waitress the bartender will ask you to go sit at a table even if his bar Is empty. I called to speak to the owner about the situation and at first was lied to and said that he wasn't there. Then when I said I had a complaint she got the older on the phone. He had a huge attitude with me . When I try to explain my situation and how the bartender was being rude he cut me off in the middle of my story and told me he had to check in order in And I he was going to call and speak to them and return my phone call. Save yourself the money and the frustration and go to a place that actually cares about you. I am extremely disappointed because I have been going here since I was a child and now I see How this place really is. I've always recommended this place to friends and family and I will never...
