My Buddys BBQ & Catering — Restaurant in Jacksonville

As a guy that loves to cook BBQ and find new BBQ places to try i was very disappointed by this "BBQ" restaurant. I'll start off by saying the Corn bread was the best thang I got.

I ordered the big buddy meat platter.

None of the meat tasted seasoned. All was very bland and dry AF...

The ribs very mushy, never thought I'd have to eat them with a fork but it was a must have, then they didn't even brush the bbq sauce on it or cook the bbq on top for a nice glaze...

The pulled pork very dry and bland.

The pulled chicken had a little seasoning taste to it but very dry.

The brisket it was bland and it was lean cut instead of marble which is much more preferred..

I will say not even BBQ sauce could make the meat any better...

The Mac n cheese tasted like just noodles..

The mashed potatoes where ok. But hard to mess up them...

The baked beans were okay..

I won't be back unless you would like me to bring yall some good bbq that I'll cook for yall.. (Not Joking at all) or just sell me the place and I'll bring good bbq to the community

$122 worth of terrible food, would rather eat Mcyuck down the...

My Buddy’s reminds me of many small BBQ joints in the South and it’s our local “go-to” for barbecue! As an innkeeper, I feel like it’s my sworn duty to test out all the restaurants in town - so I can recommend them to my guests, I mean!! Food and service are terrific.

I have tasted all of the meats and many of the side dishes at My Buddy’s. We’ve been there twice in the last five days, and they were closed on Sunday. Does that tell you anything? Our Favorite Meat Options: ribs, smoked turkey, smoked meatloaf… ribs Insider Tip: if you want ribs, call or order as early as possible. (They sometimes run out before I decide to head out for dinner.) Insider tip #2: Check their Facebook or call ahead to ensure that they are open, to check specials and sold-outs. (Like our other small businesses, they have been impacted by the pandemic.)

My Buddy's is my favorite barbecue joint from miles around. They also cater, and from the catered events I have attended, they do that...

Because of Diet restrictions right now, I have not eaten at the store. Here is something more personal and worthy of a review. I was out for a drive in my 66 C10 the other day and just left the shop. As I'm coming down the road, it starts to cut out, then died. I coasted into My Buddy's BBQ. I got out, and they gave compliments about the truck. I said thank you, but I just ran out of fuel. Do you happen to have a gas can? He went back, grabbed his can, and he was all out. His wife said, "Take my car if you need." I said ty so much drove to caseys filled the gas can and put gas in their car for caring and being so helpful. When I got back, I showed and explained my gratitude. They said no, don't put fuel in ours here. Take this. Thank you, but no, thank you. You deserve it for being such upstanding people and business owners. So not only are they rated the best BBQ in town, they are amazing, wonderful people. Show them some love and go get that BBQ that's...
