I've been a customer for years every so often I have a problem I stopped going to the restaurant years ago because of the service and the food but I still used the store in 2017 I ordered a cake that got totally messed up for my baby shower I ordered a month in advance the day of was a disaster it looked like I made the cake but the store said that's a separate company they use for cakes wasn't their problem ok every so often there was problems but it was never their problem so fast forward to Christmas Eve my husband goes to get meat and groceries from the store with his family while I'm working by the time I get off he realized he must of left a bag that had $24 or $25 worth of meat in it no one answers the phone I wasn't sure if they had already closed I go after the day after Christmas explain what happened they print out the receipt they look at the time and start watching the cameras I have to go pick up my daughter because of the daycare late fee and I had no idea it was going to take more than 40 mins to get a replacement give my phone number so he can finish watching the video never get a call I call the next day and they tell me that it was in the same bag as the onions and since we got the onions we got the meat I had way more meat then just the $24 that was left there I do not lie and I hate being called a liar I would not have wasted my gas and time over $24 dollars maybe if the staff focused on their job and not the conversations they are having with each other there wouldn't be discrepancies not that the staff care because in the end it's not...

We went today for lunch. We ordered a Mojito and Tamarand juice and enjoyed the complimentary salsa but the chips were thicker and we prefer thinner. Not bad just a preference. The salsa was fresh tasting and not spicy, very flavorful. For our mains we ordered steak fajitas and pozole. Oh my goodness!!! The steak and onions, peppers and tomatoes were seasoned so well. It came with beans and rice as well. The beans and rice are as you expect. The pozole for me was the hit. It was a huge portion of flavorful broth not spicy very flavorful with large chunks of chicken. It came with Mexican oregano, crushed peper flakes, limes, raw onions, lettuce and what appeared to be house made tostadas. I barely made a dent in the pozole but was doing my happy food dance while eating. I am looking forward to enjoying the left overs a few more times.

The bar is ever nice, the Mojito was spot on delicious. They have e lots of tequila, two sangrias, a few juices in addition to soda. We observed the beer is served in nice glass beer mugs which we thought was nice since you don't see that much in Jax.

The water is Jax water so I suggest ordering a drink.

We saw some delicious looking tacos as being served as well.

The prices were very fair for the amount and excellence of the dishes.

Thoughts: My wife and I wanted some Mexican food close to home and didn't feel like eating at La Napolera again. We had hear about this place so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately we weren't terribly impressed. I ordered 3 tacos (2 chicken and 1 carnets) and my wife ordered the chicken quesadilla. Both of the chicken dishes used shredded chicken and it was a little overly salty. Other than that though the food was a tad bland. There wasn't any single thing "wrong" with the food, it just wasn't great. A lot of yelp reviews mention the tacos here but I know where to get taco's at a better place (see Mr. Taco) and I can make quesadillas at home.

I will say the it is very cheap and you get plenty of food. In addition it is attached to an amazing Mexican grocery store that is worth checking out for some of those hard to get Mexican ingredients for your meal.
