I recently visited this Popeyes on Dunn Ave, which is operated by Sailormen Inc., a company that manages several franchises in the region, including this one in Jacksonville, FL. Donna Hudson is listed as one of the managers here, though details about her specific role are limited. Unfortunately, the service is incredibly disappointing for a new establishment.
The staff is unprofessional and uninterested in serving customers. When I ordered a large mango sweet tea, I was given a medium and told there was only one size. Then, I attempted to order a 4-piece tender with no sides and was told I had to buy the combo. It felt more like an upsell than a genuine mistake.
Other reviewers have faced similar issues: incorrect orders, long waits, and rude service. One customer pointed out that after ordering spicy chicken, they were given classic instead. Another mentioned waiting 35 minutes for a chicken sandwich. The conditions of the restaurant are also appalling, with the men’s restroom being reported as filthy.
Despite being a major player in fast-food operations in the southeast, Sailormen Inc., which operates this Popeyes, has allowed this location to spiral into chaos. For a restaurant that should be focused on delivering quick and accurate service, this Popeyes is failing at even the most basic level of customer care. The Barthell Family Trust may own the property, but it's clear that proper management is sorely...
Read moreI live close by and anxiously awaited this location to open as there aren't many options nearby. I have been 7-8x already and it isn't getting any better. Seems many others are experiencing the same things as well. Every single time I've gone, typically with no one in front of me in the drive thru, surprisingly, but no matter, it still always takes 20+ minutes to get my food. Half the times they've been out of things they shouldn't be out of so early in the evenings. Apparently the manager/shift managers don't know how to operate the business and need further training or replacing if they cannot get it together and have a better attitude in doing so, since the customer service is also lacking at the window, never greeting at all. I've nicely suggested maybe dropping chicken before you run out so this doesn't keep happening. But yet, it's always the same things...on fries too, if they didn't run out. I'm probably better off calling corporate since these reviews clearly aren't making any difference. Yet I'll keep on patronizing my local Popeye's. Not much choice...
Read moreI recently had a deeply disappointing experience with the Popeyes location on Dunn Avenue West. I placed an order for a family meal through the Popeyes app, spending my last $35, only to arrive at the store and find out that my order was not received. I showed the manager my receipt and logged back into the app to confirm that I had placed the order 40 minutes prior.
Instead of offering a solution, the manager displayed no empathy for my situation. She merely handed me the Popeyes corporate number, which frustratingly redirects you to their website where you have to chat with an agent. The response I received was that I would get my refund within 3 to 5 business days.
Spending my last $35 meant I couldn’t feed my family that night, and the lack of immediate assistance or concern from both the store and corporate is unacceptable. This kind of poor customer service and lack of engagement from a major company like Popeyes is appalling. I expected better support and accountability, but instead, I was left without a meal and without any...
