The only way this restaurant earns a star, any star, is because of the food that I will never again enjoy. The management several weeks ago sent a worker out into the long line of cars waiting in the drive through at about 10 minutes before closing. That worker, looking into the cars while the manager looked on from the doorway, made a decision to point at my car about midway through the line waiting to place their orders (after I had been in line for over 15 minutes already) and loudly told us they were closed. He indicated that from my car back, the restaurant was closing now and would not be able to serve us. Our 15 minute wait had been for nothing but we then discovered two much more disturbing facts. Upon pulling around the restaurant we couldn't help but notice that the cars ahead of us that were all going to be served that evening were all occupied by the same racial demographic as the worker. My car was not and neither was the one behind it. Icing on the cake: It was still 10 minutes before the posted closing time for that restaurant and patrons were being turned away. I've run a corporation for 30 years and know that when a customer is waiting to be served, is already in line long before closing time and patiently looking forward to patronizing my business, you never close that door until the last person is served. That's called good business practices and good customer service. If you have to cut off service you prevent additional people from getting into line by having a worker put out a sign, cones, or stand there to let them know service has been cut off but you NEVER turn away customers you have allowed into that line and to wait for a quarter of an hour. You NEVER for a moment given the impression that there is racial favoritism in any part of the organizational decisions that take place particularly where your customers are concerned, and you NEVER turn away business unless you do it in a professional and dignified manner when the hour arrives that the company advertises it will be closed. Not one moment before that hour. The immediate result will be a bad experience for a few customers and negative public relations. Long term this practice, that may happen as a matter of routine management policy at this restaurant or company wide, will ultimately cost the business a tremendous loss of revenue. It lost Popeye's my business and that of my family for a lifetime. This certainly will not be the last time I will relate this discredit to strategic management practices by your company in the university classes I teach, the media viewers I serve, and the food chains in your industry who I can praise when they "get it right." This was a taste of Louisiana spice I could have lived quite happily without....
Read moreI went through the drive through to order. Some young girl, with not much cust service skills took my order. She answered the drive thru with “hold on”. After a few minutes came back and said yes?? I gave her my order, with a coupon code for $3 off when at least $15 is purchased. She told me I needed to add more items to use the coupon which sounded strange to me as I ordered my USUAL with that coupon code. But. I added a large fry to the order. Now, even though she repeated it back to me, she entered something totally different. After pulling around, gave her my credit card, I caught it after she asked me to pull forward and wait. At that point, I went inside to let her know the order is wrong. At this point, workers were inside complaining about several things. What time they’re leaving, how long they’d been there, etc. So this one lady, maybe a shift leader in the background when she realized something was wrong, she came up. The young lady explained to her that she took my order wrong, and asked her to refund me. She proceeded to do so, disgruntled, and with a none caring attitude! She asked me for the coupon code I used, I told her the code, she said “we’re supposed to have it here”. I stated it was in my car and I rushed in to correct the order. Surprisingly she said “I’ll wait for you to go get it”, REALLY??? AFTER you ALL inconvenienced me, you should have offered me my food free in my opinion! But to expect me to go back to my car AND come back again was a bit much! I started to go get it, then I turned around and said, “no thank you, I’m good”! She asked “you sure”? YES, very sure! I left and kindly went to Chik Fila where no one was cussing and fussing about being at work, the atmosphere was pleasant, and my order was ACCURATE! This is one of the newest Popeyes in Jacksonville! In fact, the NEWEST one in the Southside area. They’re SLOW, possess little to no customer service skills, and have no consideration of time OR time management. I did not receive ONE apology from the order taker OR the shift lead or whoever she was. Don’t waste your time with Popeyes! I have loved this place for the 40 years I’ve been here but I REFUSE to patronize place, and help pay salary to RUDE and...
Read moreHorrible experience. My wife and I had free sandwiches through T-Mobile Tuesday, so we downloaded the app and each placed a mobile order. We were really looking forward to trying the new sandwich, and the free offer made us willing to sit in the long lines that are always at our new Popeyes. We bought some extra sides as well and selected drive-thru pickup. We arrived at 8:31 and waited in what was actually a relatively short line that we soon discovered was moving quite slowly. The sign on the door said you could go inside for pickup, so my wife got out in the rain only to find the doors locked. When we finally got to the order kiosk at 8:51, we were told they had no record of either of our orders and asked us to pull up. By this point it was pouring. When we got up to the window, rain pouring into my open window, I showed the manager our order on the app and he said there was nothing he could do. As I looked more closely at my order, it said it was picked up over an hour earlier, presumably by mistake, while my wife's order showed no pickup time, suggesting that her's was actually still available. Despite this we were told the had no record of the orders and there was nothing that could be done. We double checked again that we had the right location, and we were correct. So, now my left side is soaked, I am still hungry, I am out $5, and have wasted an hour of my time...
Revision - customer service was responsive, though their offer to make thing right seemed insufficient. We did get a refund, and were given a small credit that was worth about 1/2 of the T-Mobile coupon, and could not be used with any deal. We almost didn't even bother going back, but ultimately decided to. The service was really slow again, with over a 20 minute wait despite a short line. The sandwich which we had heard so much about was good, though a bit over salty - though only one of them had pickles on it. Sandwich I would...
