Decided to stop by last sat Oct 16 2021 for some lunch here before we went to the movies. Nice lil atmosphere with tv's, dim lights with black ceiling, plenty of booths and waitresses. when you walk in take out to the left and hostess on right. They do have a drive thru as well. We stood there for a few secs looking at the hostesses and then one of them seated us at the table. Our waitress was very nice. We both got the 16.99 sampler of chicken, ribs, pulled pork, toast with two sides and a big glass of water with lemon. Also got the eggroll appetizers with extra sauce. They were delicious and filling. They have bbq, mustard, sizzlin, etc. sauces on table to try on your food, salt, pepper and paper towels. Looked and smelled great. My chicken was good but husbands was a bit dry. Pulled pork not much flavor by itself but good with the sauces. Ribs we both loved and were tender. Toast was good but didn't like how they placed the bowl of green beans on top of toast. Just didn't seem sanitary to me, but understood that they prob didn't know where to place the toast on the full plate. Mac n cheese great. Green beans were bright green and good. Had a taste of onions and butter in it. It did bother me not 4 mins later after we got our food the waitress comes up and places our check on the table and says no rush. Even though it did bother me a bit cuz I didn't see anyone else with a check on there table like that.. still felt rushed, but still I let it go cuz she was a nice waitress And she kept checking on us every 5 mins it seemed like. But when it came down to us ready to pay my husband had to wave her to get her attention. Other people around us seemed to enjoy their meals as we did. We might visit again and like to try other meals...
Read moreUnfortunately I had a bad experience earlier this week. I sent an email with my complaint, and have yet to hear back. Therefore, maybe a bad review will get their attention. I ordered online, to which I received a text message stating my order was received and to reply to the text with "HERE" and my parking spot #. I did this when I got there, and then immediately received a text saying that my order will be out once it's ready. I waited about 25 min. I know places are short staffed so I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. Well, I went in to check on my order. An employee named Cameron basically told me that I should have called the number on the sign, and that they don't use the text messaging. How was I supposed to know that? He told me multiple times that I should have called the number. I told him that he needs to tell his boss that the texting needs to be disabled then. To which he replied that I should have called the number on the sign. He told me this multiple times, not even acknowledging that he would discuss with his manager. My food was cold and the ice in my drinks was melted. What would have been nice is to hear "I'm sorry that our system doesn't work, let me at least refresh your drinks." NOTHING. All he cared about is that I should have called the number on the sign. As I walked out he gave me at snotty "have a nice evening." To which I just laughed. Please disable the texting option from your website, and train your employees on how rectify situations. This was a super annoying situation where the employee decides he wants to be right instead of trying to help me have a better experience. I won't be back to...
Read moreI was a little disappointed on a recent visit. I was there with my Dad visiting on Veteran's Day to pick up a sandwich combo. We went to pick up window to order to go. There seemed to be confusion as to what the deal and menu available for Vets. There seemed to be a supervisor there, but seemed distracted and uninterested in helping us. She walked away and left some confused rookie to assist, and he really seemed lost. Anyway he finally got our order after about 20 minutes and line was building behind us. It still took 30 minutes to get out the order to us even had one customer that came in and ordered after us, get their order before us. Then, there seemed to be confusion about Voucher for another visit for some appatizer Redmeck egg rolls. I showed them where it started on the VA website, but after another 10 minutes, they said they had no idea and did not have any vouchers available I do realize they were extremely busy that particular day, and seemed severely under staffed, and feel their dilemma and pain. Just disappointed.
Now, I will give them kudos and a grassy review as I returned 2 days later with Mom, Dad, my brother and his girl friend. For dine in Immediately seated, and server Sarah came and got drink order right away. We got the Family Feast and came out quickly. Server was great, food was great and very reasonable deal. They did redeem themselves on this visit. I will return other times. I always enjoy Sonny's and almost always great service. Jus disappointed on that one visit on Veteran's Day. Keep up good work...
