Stonewood Grill & Tavern — Restaurant in Jacksonville

The Hospitality Manager, Rachel, is not as her title states, "HOSPITABLE"! She allowed a party of 6 that Arrived to the restaurant at 1:30pm to be served after 7 tables had arrived after them to be served, finish their meal and get their check before this table of 6 was even thought about. I had to go back to the kitchen and ask where their meal was. She then had the waiter bring the table a complimentary Buffalo shrimp when 2 of the 6 are allergic to seafood. She caught an attitude with me when I questioned why the table had not been served and it was then after 3. She said " the dinners are 30 minutes behind. That's fine but it was over an hour. She NEVER offered an apology and hesitated to come out and speak to the customers.

I am extremely disappointed in this highly priced restaurant for its service and choice of management as well as the food is not what the prices suggest.

I called back to see if that table of 6 was compensated and again Rachel couldn't gather her words and decided to lie and say she discounted the ticket. She asked that I hold while she get the receipts after taking more than 7 minutes she came back to the phone without the receipts but yet another cop out. She asked for my information so she can give it to the operations manager. I told her I would call back the next day myself.

Oh on top of that our party was the on people in the restaurant so I don't understand the lack of service given by Rachel

Over priced, over rated definitely over the Hospitality Manager, Rachel! Would NOT recommend...

I've dined at this particular Restaurant several times & I shall say that the atmosphere,the staff,and mainly the food...never disappoints!!! My family and I dined there this evening,5/8/2022,Mother's Day,and the Restaurant was bustling!!! However,I may say that the entire staff,from hosting to cooking,ran like a well oiled machine!!! Now take into account that my family made reservations for today,so there was no wait and a reserved ticket on our table.Which was such a kind gesture your staff did for the few families that made reservations!!! And our waitress,Ashley,was so incredibly sweet and accommodating to all of our needs. Even though she was the SOLE waitress for several tables,and I mean SEVERAL tables...that seated at least 4 people each!!! With her being as busy as she was,we waited for nothing,always had what we needed,and received everything we ordered in a very timely manner!!! She was what I would refer to as "the perfect waitress"...always had a full beverage,removed plates from the table with perfect timing, and let us enjoy our food and the company of each other's presence without interrupting us too many times(and yes,that's a plus for us patrons who were formerly employed in the food industry).All 4 of our dinners were made to our own personal perfections!!! My two very close friends/former co-workers and I have been coming to Stonewood for happy hour for a number of years. The bar area is very nice and the appetizers and nightly drink specials are fantastic. Unfortunately, they recently took calimari off the happy hour menu, but we regularly order the Buffalo shrimp, which is outstanding! I would have given this restaurant 5 stars, but my only complaint is the live music in the bar. I previously mentioned this in an email on their website...the fact that the venue is too small and closed off to support a live musician as it gets so loud that carrying on a conversation is next to impossible without screaming across the table. Management’s response was “we have the happy hour menu in the main dining room..”. We like the bar atmosphere for winding down after work. That being said, we had been avoiding coming on Thursdays as that was previously the only day they had live music. Now, they also have a musician on Wednesday. Used to start at 6:00 p.m., so we showed up yesterday at 4:30 hoping to finish our gathering before the music started. But, by 4:45, the musician was there setting up and started playing at 5:00. Needless to say, we weren’t very happy, but had just ordered our second round of drinks and an appetizer so we just tried to tune out the music and carry on our conversation.
