Mandarin Bay Apartments — Local services in Fernandina Beach

I have been living here a 3 months now the move in process was terrible I requested a downstairs unit because I have kids and I didn’t want them to disturb the neighbor but I was moved to a upstairs. My move in unit was changed 5 times and was advised on one unit so we paid the fee to have the power switched to it and then was advised that we were moved again and wasn’t compensated for the 2nd. Fecal water stayed in my second bathroom for over a month only had one working toilet and plumbing in the entire complex is terrible showers would clogged tiles were left when moved in construction dust everywhere basically we were moved into a unit that was clearly not ready at all so for the safety of my children we had to jump from family home and hotels to stay. And were only compensated by taking 300 off rent which didn’t cover the charges for us to have somewhere to stay. Entire building smelled like sewage for weeks because my unit was flooding the unit below me couldn’t open my windows to atleast get fresh air because there were no screens on the windows and again I have kids safety concern. Water was cut off without any communication to tenants upon multiple occasions, dishwasher has flooded and still has standing water and have make the issue known multiple times and that’s the last thing that still hasn’t been repaired. (Everything else is working pretty recently after many many emails and phone calls)And I don’t have a pantry to store anything so I have my food items all over the counters and floor. I would like to start off by saying that I am in the Mandarin Bay Apartments for a temporary amount of time. Upon arrival to the apartment I noticed many things were structurally wrong. For starters, the door handle on the laundry room popped right off into my hand when pulled; secondly, 3 drawers in the kitchen do not even have tracks to slide in and out, it is just sitting on the cabinetry. Also to note, one of the drawers runs right into the oven door. The dishwasher sticks out from the covering and there are 0 shelves in one of the bedroom closets. This is a short list of the problems I have in my apartment after initial move in and a work order has been filed. It is my firm belief that no one should be paying over $1400 a month for a place that has so many flaws. If I’m being 100% brutally honest here I think that craftsmanship of this apartment lacks significantly and could definitely be improved. Now, with that being said, I think that Suzanne and Carol have fantastic customer service and do everything in their power in order to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The customer service factor is definitely present. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! First let me say I am being evicted and during hard times for everyone when I tried to pay my May rent online as agreed, it was the same weekend the Vystar website crashed. They filed that next Monday morning. I have lived here for 8 months been late once before and paid as agreed. The property has been refurbished with poor construction and 99cent fixtures and they claim Luxury Apts. Constant construction, debris everywhere and sometimes construction workers here up until 10pm at night. The plumbing is a nightmare!!!!!
