Takeria Mix Honduran & Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Jacksonville

It was my first time visiting this restaurant. I was in the mood for plátanos maduros and I googled “plátanos maduros jacksonville” and this restaurant popped up. It was decently empty for lunch time (which I did not mind at all, I actually preferred it) and the waitress was so incredibly nice and sweet.

I ordered some plátanos with queso frito and it was a great appetizer and it came with way more plátanos than I thought it would!

For my meal I ordered the regular chicken burrito. The burrito was interesting as I thought it came with the rice, refried beans, lettuce, guac, and pico inside the burrito but it comes separate. The burrito was just shredded chicken wrapped in a tortilla with sauce drizzled on top of it. When I had first ordered, the waitress had asked me if I wanted the California Burrito instead and I said no, but maybe I should’ve! Nothing was wrong with the burrito how it came, everything was good and tasty regardless! I’m sure I misunderstood while reading, but other people might also make this mistake.

Regardless I genuinely enjoyed my time at this restaurant. It has authentic Latin food and I miss that. I will most definitely be going back, but will make sure to read the menu...

I had to make an account because the customer service was unbelievably rude! It all started because we did not speak Spanish, which even though we do speak the language we don’t all the time. I could hear them dissing non Spanish speakers. After she served our food she did not come back. She was flirting with the men and clearly ignoring us. She checked on them constantly and not once checked on us. The whole time she was throwing indirect comments about Mexican-Americans. We tried to get their attention but she continued to ignore us. We set our food to the side to show we were done but no luck. We heard the other lady tell her we were ready but she continued talking to the other table. My fiancé had to Speak loud to get her attention. Finally after a bit she came to our table. Then when she took our food she made a comment about us leaving food and how we should be responsible for washing dishes. The whole time it was awkward and I felt uncomfortable. Despite the horrible service we were planning on leaving a tip but after the continued talking about us and nasty comments we decided not too. I do not recommend this place! I never leave reviews but this experience...

Please do not order the seafood soup, it wort around 2-3 dolars, the menu said it has scallops, fish, shrimp, crab legs, octopus etc. All I got was imitation crab, fish and frozen seafood mix, and the food didn't even tasted good. And the best part I dont eat rice and corn tortilla and I asked if insed of those I can get like 4 pices of tosones and she said no. 4 pieces of tostenes coast about 0.25c I go to the grocery store and I know 1 plaintain cost less than a dollar. I already thougt that was rude, because if you want people to come back and write you a good review than you want to make them happy, and I have a business, We have a lot of people and they come back because we try to make them happy. And I had to pay 20.00 dollar for this bad soup. It's not even worth to go to restaurants every restaurant doubled the prices almost on everything, I don't find reasonable, especially that the quality went down big time.
