Went to this little quaint diner in downtown Jamesburg as we happened to be in the area again. For a small town it has many dining options with a variety of cuisines. However, we decided on something with a comfort food feel. We chose the diner which has a pretty good selection of dinners including a senior citizen menu as well as some specials. We ordered the chicken cordon bleu along with the homemade fried chicken. Both dinners included soup, we had chicken noodle and New England clam chowder. Both soups were flavorful especially the clam chowder, it was delicious. The fried chicken was crispy but lacked any distinct seasoning, it was just basic fried chicken. It was ok, just not a signature type dish. The chicken cordon bleu was a whole different story, it was extremely salty, so much so only a quarter of the dish, if even that much, was eaten. Needless to mention, but we didn’t take any leftovers home. With each dinner a choice of vegetable is offered, we never did get the string beans even after reminding the waitress twice. The zucchini was cooked and seasoned very well and the mashed potatoes, well, were mashed potatoes. Overall a very disappointing experience, at least for dinner. Would I go back, probably not.

I was going to Recoil range in Monroe NJ which is located less than a mile away from the diner and decided to try the place out. I didn't know it was here but it seems to be popular. It isn't a "Jersey Diner" is more of a luncheonette. The place was crowded full of families on a Saturday morning. I sat at the counter. The place is clean and bright. The staff was hustling but friendly. I ordered their Diner Skillet. It came with a lot of food! Three pancakes, toast, two eggs, hash browns, bacon, a sausage link and ham, with coffee and juice for $14.99! The food was really good. The service was fast and the wait staff was friendly. I would definitely go back there.

It was ok for a basic breakfast. Warmly greeted at the door. You can tell this place has been here a very long time and is frequented by lots of locals. It's right in the heart of downtown Jamesburg. Coffee was good. Had the Florentine omelette with spinach and feta... probably the worst feta cheese I've ever tasted... I don't even think it was feta. My son had the Greek omelette which had the same bad cheese. My wife had basic over easy eggs which were done nicely. Pancakes were good too. It was surprisingly expensive. $57 (including tip) for 3 people is a bit much. Overall the meal was ok. Would I go back? Yes I would, but I wouldn't expect a wow meal.

I'm sure the people who have written reviews are regulars, but for anyone out of town, I think a real review is needed.

When we walked in, there was no greeting, or direction as to whether we were supposed to seat ourselves, or wait. So after a few minutes of standing there being stared at, we took a seat. A waitress came over, and while she was extremely nice, wasn't very good. When we asked if it was Pepsi or coke products, she walked off and just brought a Coke back to the table. The menu is a huge book- which immediately gave me a bad feeling. I'd rather have a small menu with food cooked right, then a large menu with bad food.

We didnt get our appetizer before the food because they made potato skins and the waitress thought we wanted potato pancakes, we wanted potato skins. She didnt bring my French onion soup over before the food either. I ended up with all of my food on my table at one time- and besides my wife's chicken sandwich, it was terrible. The French onion soup tasted worse than can soup, it tasted of raw onion and salt- that's it. My grilled cheese sandwich was cold and soggy. And the potato skins were cold and flavorless. I couldn't handle more than a few bites and had to have it taken off the bill. They asked if I wanted it remade, but I didn't have time before work.

If you're just looking for a grilled chicken sandwich, go ahead and eat there. Or maybe even breakfast when they're busy. But I definitely wouldnt recommend going there for dinner, if you're like me and just wanting some basic diner sandwich and soup- which is all I wanted. I will be stopping at Wawas on the way to work for...

If you're ever passing through a small town and find yourself craving a classic diner experience, make sure to stop by the Diner. It’s the kind of place that feels like home, serving up delicious comfort food with a side of warmth and hospitality. On a busy Sunday, when the place was packed and the pressure was on, our experience was elevated by the exceptional service from Lindsay.

Managing a table of seven on a crowded day is no small feat, but Lindsay made it look effortless. She was the epitome of grace under pressure, juggling multiple tables without ever making us feel like we were anything less than her priority. She was attentive, quick with the refills, and always had a smile, no matter how busy things got. Lindsay's professionalism and friendly demeanor made our visit truly memorable.

Not only did she handle the rush like a seasoned pro, but she also had a knack for remembering the little details. She made sure our orders were just right and checked in with us just enough to make us feel cared for, but never hovered. It’s rare to see someone manage such a full workload with such ease and kindness, and Lindsay made our experience special.

The food, of course, was delicious—hearty diner staples done right—but it was Lindsay’s service that really made the difference. If you’re lucky enough to have her as your server, you're in for a treat. She’s truly the heart of this place, and we can’t...

The food was fine. It was the server (or whatever you call the lady that seats you) that was a bit rude. I placed my order over the phone for pick up. I got there, walked in , two people in front of me, she seated them, asked me if i was with them, i said no i called in my order for pick up. she came back and asked the other young lady about my order, the other young lady proceeded to get my order, which was fine. you would have thought that the first lady would ring me up at the register, but she didn't. this other lady came in, and said she was there to pick up her food, she took care of her first, mind you that lady's order wasn't there yet. the young gal that went to grab my order, brought out both orders and handed mine to the lady at the register first. didn't matter, she made me wait while she finished taking care of this customer that came in AFTER me. THEN, she goes over to the register, grabs something from the counter and goes over to a few tables and takes the order of a couple of customers! no lie! THEN comes back to me to ring me up. I stood their patiently, looking confused as to why I was being ignored. I never felt so unwelcomed in my life. This is my employer has our weekly monday meetings there and I just expected to be treated fairly like any other paying customer. She made herself clear. I'll definitely never go back...
