Our first time visiting this Dominican restaurant in Jamesburg. It will not be our last. The food was absolutely delicious. Very similar to Puerto Rican food which we love. The dishes were cooked perfectly and were filled with such amazing flavor. Can't wait to eat the leftovers later today. The restaurant is quite unique. They have an area that serves pre-prepared food for takeout with a large sitting area if you decide to eat there. They also have a full-on menu if you plan on dining there with lots of great choices. The atmosphere and the dining area is nothing special. But you're not going there for the aviance. You're going there for incredible food. They do have a separate room that looks like for special events. Very fancy. Fine dining looking. Not sure the purpose of that room but it looked very nice. The staff was friendly. It helps if you know Spanish as, I'm not sure she spoke English. The food came out very quickly and again I can't say how much we enjoyed it. I will certainly be back again and again and again.

Ok I don't like to give anyone 1 star but I have to and it's going to the server otherwise they would get nothing. The food looks pretty but the taste was horrible. Had to put a ton of hot sauce in the meat just to taste something and the chicken patties were the worse I ever had, tasted like cardboard. With this in mind I was even more upset when first one cook goes behind the counter were the food is out in the open and just started fixing himself a plate instead of asking the girls that were already there. Not even 5 minutes later another cook comes out and does the same! Just digging in the food like he was home. To make matters worse this told me that this so call Dominican restaurant's food is been cooked by Non Dominicans. That huge since every Latin country has their own taste, seasonings and thats what you want to experience. Nope nada here to tell my abuelita about, definitely will Not be back.

I ABSOLUTELY recommend this restaurant! I Googled 'Dominican Restaurants near me' since we were traveling from Virginia to Upstate New York and this restaurant popped up. It's in New Jersey right off exit 8A in a very nice looking neighborhood. The restaurant is bautifully decorated, friendly, large portions, reasonably priced and the best part is the DELICIOUS FOOD! I had the steak and onions and my two family members had the oxtail, Oh my goodness it was better than we expected! The juices are also so amazing! We will definitely come back! Great job Sabor Dominicano 🇩🇴

Dear Management of SABOR DOMINICANO Restaurant,

I feel compelled to express my profound disappointment regarding my recent dining experience at your establishment. My visit left me with a range of concerns that I believe warrant your attention.

First and foremost, I was taken back when I received my bill and noticed that I had been charged an exorbitant 40% more than the prices clearly stated on the menus. When I brought this pricing inconsistency to the attention of one of your employees, I was met with an explanation that was both perplexing and unsatisfactory. The employee claimed that the stack of freshly printed menus I had used was outdated and contained incorrect pricing information. This explanation not only lacked credibility but also raised questions about transparency and fairness in your pricing practices. It is disheartening to feel as though customers are being taken advantage of in such a manner.

In addition to the pricing issue, I must admit that the food itself failed to meet my expectations. I had eagerly anticipated a flavorful and authentic Dominican culinary experience but was left underwhelmed by the taste and presentation of the dishes. This departure from what I had anticipated only added to my overall dissatisfaction with the visit.

Regrettably, I have come to the conclusion that, in the future, I will be making the extra effort to travel to New Brunswick to satisfy my cravings for genuine Dominican cuisine. I believe that every dining experience should be a positive and fair one, and my recent visit to SABOR DOMINICANO Restaurant, unfortunately, fell far short of those expectations.

In conclusion, my visit to SABOR DOMINICANO Restaurant left me with concerns about pricing transparency, food quality, and the professionalism of your staff. I hope that this feedback serves as an opportunity for you to address these issues and improve the overall dining experience at your restaurant. Until such improvements are made, I regret to say that I cannot recommend SABOR DOMINICANO Restaurant to others, as it appears that some customers may be subject to unfair treatment aka "Gringo Pricing".

Horrible experience yesterday when ordering take out . Funny thing is we dined in a month before and all was perfect. The take out portions they spoon into a tin are ridiculous so cheap on the food they won’t pass the brim of the tin and it’s $10 for just any meat. Over the phone I repeated boneless chicken three times and still had chicken on the bone then I had to drive 40 minute round trip from home to pick up the right chicken. $7 for 5 small pieces of fried cheese is beyond me . I’m originally from uptown manhattan the heart of Spanish food where you can get a tin the same size with rice beans and any meat loaded to the brim of the tin were the cover will barely close for an average of 7/9 dollars. The way they make sure they give you a handful of meat for $10 is just ridiculous never again will I eat there . GRAND TOTAL SPENT $120 On two white rice 4 empanadas two tins of meat a juice two small beans five less then a handful pieces of fried cheese and Ide say everything was alittle more then half full. So I had to order two more tins of meat to compinsate for the lack portions of what they already packed yet the two rice tins were full to the brim obviously because rice isn’t expensive...
