McDonald's — Restaurant in Jasper

To begin, I have not stopped or eaten at any McDonald's location for years due to extremely poor customer service and inaccurate orders. So, when recently in Jasper, Indiana on a Saturday evening at 9:30 when all other restaurants were closed I bit my upper lip and went through the drive-through at this McDonald's location.

The guy at the cashier's window was a typical McDonald's employee that hated his job and let his customers know it when we stopped to pay. But, it met my expectations as this is what most McDonald's employees demonstrate to their customers who pay to eat at the place they work. Afterall, there are text messages and social media posts that the customer is taking your time away from.

The surprise came when the guy at the pickup window greeted us with a smile and he was actually friendly. He gave us our order and when I asked for a different nugget sauce he cheerfully handed me what I asked for and then thanked us for visiting McDonald's.

Once inside our hotel room the shock continued, our bag had the correct items inside and they even included napkins, straws, and the sauces I ordered. Every one of our meals 100% correct.

This is not what our past experience with McDonald's has been. But, I definitely had to give them a shout out for a superb customer experience that was...

I used drive through... Ordered 2 MC flurries and was told it was $8.46 when I got to the window I was told $13.21. I told her it was 2 MC flurries and she said the right amount. I gave her a $20 and she gave me back $7.79. I again corrected her. Then the manager came and said they wasn't going to charge me and she'd give me my $ back. I gave her the $7.79 and she gave me $8.46 back. When I told her I paid with a $20 she tried to give me $ 5.33 (added up to $13.79. I told her I'd give her all the money back and she could give me my $20 back she said just a minute and closed the window... Finally got the $20 back went to the next window for my food and he tried to hand me a soda... I told him that wasn't right and he said That's what you ordered. When I told him what I had he sighed and said that was the car in front of me... I saw him hand that car food and a drink. Finally got my mcflurries but probably won't go back for a while... I hate to have to overpay and correct everyone on the job...

This McDonald’s I would want to say, is worse than the other McDonald's in Jasper and the one in Huntingburg; the reason I say this is because I have more “altercations” with this McDonald's than the other ones. No, they aren't horrible and deserve no business from me, but I kind of feel like they don't exactly care to help is all. I was having some trouble with some rewards on the Kiosk in the front, and I asked if I could get help and the manager who is under the age of 17 and probably a junior in high school. She just told me that the rewards were acting up, and she didn't even look at my problem or try to help me, then she just decided to get back to work, so much for helping a customer when they need help. I do not think this place is horrible at service, and the environment looks really nice to look at, and I think if I were on this side of town I might go back, It is just this would be the best place to go out of the three different Mcdonalds that I have been at...
