Mi Jalisco Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Jasper

While in Jasper, I had the craving for some Mexican food. This restaurant was close to the local shopping strip malls, so I ducked in expecting just another Mexican restaurant. This place is not just your average run of the mill Mexican place. It has some truly unique dishes.

Upon entering the establishment, I noticed it is not super huge and seating is somewhat limited. The restaurant was clean both inside and out. The waitstaff was friendly and pretty quick.

I ordered the Enchiladas Spinach and Chicken. A dish consisting of a grilled chicken breast covered with sauted spinach and roasted poblano sauce. It came with soft corn tortillas on the side and lettuce with pico and sour cream, as well as a side of rice. The meal was delicious. There was enough there I had to take some home. The unique dish was very good and a nice break from the norm. I also ordered a Tamarindo drink which was 16oz with house tequila, margarita mix and fresh tamarind. This drink was also delicious and you get your money's worth.

Pros: Nice employees, clean restaurant, delicious food, unique options.

Cons: None.

Overall the experience was excellent. I was not expecting the unique dishes. I highly recommend this place, in fact I will be returning to try a few...

The menu was covered in food particles. The atmosphere was not bad. The service is fairly quick, and issues are resolved quickly. (We don't have any rice right now, would beans be ok?)

The Mi Jalisco Steak is what I ordered. First few bites were grissly, but edible. A few bites in and I almost break a tooth on a loose bone fragment that was hidden by the vegetable medley that the steak is covered in.. then a second.. and a third..

The steak itself is bland. If you order it, make sure you eat it with the veggies. I think that's what they were for.. to add flavor to the steak. Didn't get to try the rice, but the beans are pretty good.

Staff attempt to be attentive, but forget to ask simple questions. (Can I get you some water? Would you like another beer?)

I didn't have a good experience here. I hope your experience is better. Hopefully they clean the menus off before handing...

Is not what it used to be, my group of friends and I would come there often to spend the weekend or celebrate something, and we would spend sometime $500 dollars or even more, my wife and I like to order the parrillada for 2, it used to cost $34.99, but it went to $41.99 but didn't mind because they would give a good portion of food for the price. We have visited every restaurant in town and didn't find one that would treat us and serve the food as the Mi Jalisco would, but this weekend we found ourselves disappointed ☹️😞 with the new management and the new small portion of food for the same money $41.99. the size of the steak 🥩 was like a child's portion, judge for yourselves with the pictures attached, but as for me, my family and friends, I don't think we'll ever be back 🔙 there NO MORE.
