Waffle House — Restaurant in Jasper

The food was great...I mean it's waffle House right? We go there for the greasy give you indigestion food! However, as great as the food was, the service was just as bad. My husband and i sat at a booth at the very end of restaurant. We sat at a dirty table for at least 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us there and yelled for our waitress, who was in the back, and told her had a table. She finally returned and cleaned our table, gave us menus and walked away, returned in moments asking if we were ready order, I responded with yes, how about our drinks first. She took our drink orders and immediately asks us if we know what we want to eat. After that she basically hovers over our table for the entire wait for our food (literally 2 feet from my husband's head directly facing our table), leaving my husband and I uncomfortable holding any conversation thinking it might be over heard, we enjoy privacy during our dinner conversations. Also during this hovering, she held private conversations with another lady regarding her time and how she needs to clock in and clock out at the same time in order to get paid.. More than I needed to know. Then shortly after this, she yelled across the restaurant to the lady on grill, that she was "sorry for being bossy earlier".... really? Customers should not have to know you squabbled with the co-worker and now you regret it. They just want to eat their food, and enjoy time with their table mates. Then when our food was ready, I heard it called by the grill worker i watched her plate our food and also saw it sitting there near the grill, while she proceeded to calculate her hours or do some type math on a sheet of paper for over a minute, all while our food sat their waiting to be picked up. She finally went to get our food after being directly called by name from the grill. As much as she annoyed us with her hovering, it wasn't near as bad as after we got our food. Once food arrived she never returned until after attempting to get her attention several times in several minutes, she finally got us some to go boxes for our food. At this point she was very helpful. I told my husband to leave a 10% tip due to the fact that tips are the majority of their wages, but less than should be due to her lack of affective...

Went in to place a to go order, the waiter didn’t even offer us a menu so had to ask for one & it was almost like it was an inconvenience to her to turn to the side to get us one. We ordered she called our order back to us in a loud voice (no reason to be that loud considering there was only 2 other customers in the place aside from us. While we was sitting there waiting on our food there was roaches crawling on booth behind us & on the counter where people sit at on the stools. Cleaning sprays was being used to close to cooking areas (food had a windex kind of smell to it when we got home to eat which was maybe 10 minutes away if that). We didn’t spend an arm & leg in this place (THANK GOODNESS) but no one likes throwing any amount of $$$ away & thats what happened... $27 in the trash. This Waffle House use to be fast, great service, friendly staff, clean & you didn’t see roaches crawling on the tables/counters around you; it didn’t matter what time of day or night or how many customers was in there it used to be a lot better...

I jusy walked out. The night waitress was so incredibly rude it wasn't worth waiting for. I worked a 14 hour day and just pulled in to town at midnight and wanted to order a to go order. I asked her if I could sit at a dirty table (so as not to occupy a clean one) just to look at a menu. She proceeded to wash all dishes and clean up before I finally got up and got my own menu. Once I realized it was only the short menu because it was all she handed me when I went up to the counter to get it myself she once again told me to wait while she continued to clean up. I don't have high expectations of Waffle House but this girl is making herself and the business look bad. I own a retail business and have to deal with all kinds if customers all day. If she were my employee she wouldn't last 15 minutes. I have a lot of upcoming business but won't be returning. Thankfully there are late night fast food places nearby. Save your money if the girl with the dyed black hair and bad...
