DONT EAT HERE!!!! The service is horrible and the food is average at best. My “Hot” & Sour soup was luke warm, my egg roll was sitting in a pool of grease, and my general tso dinner was more like a general no! The horrible experience started when I walked Into the restaurant and was headed for the mens room, they asked me where I was going. When I returned I headed to a booth when the woman behind the cash register asked me if I was going to order. I preceded to the counter to order and she asked me if I wanted it to go because they were closing soon. It was about 8:55 pm so I asked when they closed as the hours posted on the door read 10:00 pm. She said 9:30 so I told her I would just go somewhere else (and I should have)! She then quickly said I could stay and eat if I wanted. As I was ordering the woman was on her cell phone the whole time. I paid and she went back to her phone so I had to ask her if I got my own drink cup, do I get a order number, do I go sit down, what?Since it was Monday night, I asked if she could change the channel to the Monday Night Football game as it was set on the QVC channel. She said “No.”. So I sat, she brought my order and I began to eat. I put on my head phones and was eating and watching the football game on my phone. At 9:25 she got my attention, I took off my headphones and she told me to hurry because they “are closing soon.” Discussed I had enough. I put my jacket on and asked her if she was the manager and she fired back with an aggressive “YES.” What a disappointing dinner when I could have spent my money at another restaurant in Jefferson City that appreciates my business. I am from out of town and I will never patronize this horrible restaurant again. But what I will do is tell everyone I know about my experience and everyone that will listen. Plus I will ensure the hotel that I’m staying at knows so they don’t recommend. How embarrassing to be in business with that...

My fiance and I went to China King 2 days ago. I got the vegetable lo mein, he got the Mongolian beef, and we shared the "crab" rangoon (there was maybe one crab resembling speck in each cream cheese glob).
We usually go to Happy Garden and have never had any problems with them, but we figured we'd try the new place... big mistake. My vegetable lo mein wasn't horrible, but not nearly as tasty as what i'm used to. I've already voiced my opinion on the crab rangoon, and his mongolian beef... where to start... the beef tasted very undercooked, honestly didn't even taste like beef, and had a weird green onion flavor to it. Not at all what we expected having had this dish before at other Chinese restaurants.
My very hungry fiance lost his appetite and wasn't able to finish his meal. We went to a movie, then shortly after he began the all night extravaganza with the toilet and the wastebasket, every 15-20 minutes... all night. So all clues lead to food poisoning. We regret giving this place a try, and honestly probably won't go anywhere near Chinese food for a while.
Unrelated, he later told me he saw the cashier sneeze in her hands and didn't wash them before bringing us our food, and we, not being germaphobes, are used to uncleanliness in fast food joints, we have good immune systems so we don't usually get too nit picky, but since this place caused him to miss a day of work today, I figured this info wouldn't hurt to share.
Overall, as far as appearance, very nice new building, new paint, 2 flat screen TVs, fancy chairs and tables ( for a Chinese restaurant), but if they maybe spent a little more effort on healthy sanitation and proper food storage, I might not be serving electrolytes and probiotics, soup and crackers to my...
Read moreFriday night, 9:15 pm and I have a craving. I read the other reviews thinking, oh this can't turn out good but I like to experience life events on my own so I plunged in and ordered delivery. Shrimp lo lein, chicken broccoli and crab rangoon. The nice gentleman on the phone was pleasant and happily took my order, and we had no problems understanding each other despite my obvious Missouri accent. He took my card info and the ball was set into motion. About 20 minutes later, my order showed up at my door. The driver was just as pleasant (could have been the same guy, I didn't get names). My order was perfect and hot enough I couldn't touch it, and they even sent several packets of different sauces (duck, hot mustard, etc) packed into a little bag. The crab rangoons were delicious, not overfried (agree with poster who mentioned a lack of crab, there was plenty of cream cheese filling though). The food was delicious, noodles done just right and the broccoli was tender crisp. The best part: No explosive diarrhea!!! I'm sorry the rest of you were disappointed, but I was not.
China King, your menu deserves a place on my refrigerator. I will definitely be ordering...
