Good food, great portions, if you leave hungry, it's on you.
El Espolon is a great place to get good Mexican food. Fresh hot tostadas, good sauces, some items may be substituted according to preferences, great service, and atmosphere make it an enjoyable experience. They have parking in front or in the rear of the establishment for those visiting, if the front lot is full, swing around to the rear entrance in Gerbes' parking lot. High chairs and booster seats are available, and there's plenty of seating.
Beware, on Mexican holidays like Cinco de Mayo, they get VERY busy and the place will be packed to the gills. They do have a bar with beer and believe wine selections, and serve margaritas, of course. They also have entrees for large and small appetites, a good lunch menu, and friendly servers. They have always taken good care of us!
Ony last visit, they were still on-point, the chilé relleno was delicious, the beef taco loaded, and very filling, with rice and beans, I got filled up, and set a bit to enjoy the atmosphere, and let my food digest a bit, before I headed out. Definitely an advantage during the quiet...
Read moreIt doesn’t matter how many times I go here, it’s the same dismissive attitude and horrible customer service. The waiters are usually pleasant, it’s the managers. Literally asked a questions about the menu before placing my phone order. The man huffed blurted out the answer then placed me on hold to take another order. I know because he didn’t even put the phone on mute. It’s sad that this small community can’t get good consistent customer service. And when concerns about food you ARE PAYING for are brought to managements attentions. They just look at you. Don’t say I apologize, I will speak with blank. Or we will fix for next time. You get nothing but a blank look. And I’ve gotten FOOD POISONING twice from this place. I swore I wouldn’t eat here again. It’s been a year and I thought Let me try it one more time and BOOM Still no change. I hope they read these and do take into consideration peoples feeling because talking to them...
Read moreAt 3pm on a Sunday, this place is rather popular. I initially get discouraged upon being seated and went to the rest room: no paper towels. So I went to the staff and let them know about it and they promptly replaced the paper towels. I ordered the seafood fajitas because I haven't tried it before. The guy who took my order said casually but with confidence that it's good. I figured since he works there, he's just trying to sell his product. So I just nodded and thought to myself, "We'll see about that." A few minutes later, the sizzling plate with my fajitas arrived . It was delicious! He gave me about 6 corn tortillas and ate them all 6 and there's still fajitas leftovers. So I took home the rest. I will definitely come back here next time I visit....
