New China — Restaurant in Jefferson City

Food has a funky aftertaste, food overcooked, barely a selection. This would not pass as a 4 star restaurant anywhere and as a visitor to this city I am sorely disappointed in what passes for a 4 star. This place is a 2 star at best. The food is awful, and there's absolutely no service . 10/10 don't recommend, don't waste your time or money. Better off going to Subway, at least you might be happy with...

The food here is remarkably good, and the lunch specials are very cheap: a big portion of main dish, fried rice, and an egg roll for under $6. I really like the Orange Chicken, and always get the fried rice St. Louis style (just ask, no extra charge). The buffet is good too for its relatively small size. The food was really good. We were there in the evening and we were the only people in the place. Several people came in for carryout. It was a little uncomfortable but after ordering at the counter, the waiter brought our food, checked on us a few times, and left us alone to talk.
