Let’s start with, look at the pictures below and then read this review. I preordered this cake for my cousins 21st and sisters 30th birthday and as you can see highly disappointed. This cake was suppose to be a 10in tiramisu cake that cost $60 and had here’s to 21, even if your 30 written on it. Instead it came out to be frozen tiramisu cake with a cookie placed on top with some half a** writing on it. When I preorder a cake I expect it to be thawed and written nicely especially if it is worth $60. This bakery came highly recommended and I was honestly excited to order a cake from here especially for a high price. Instead as you can see I left with some lackluster work. My uncle picked up the cake for me and he told me he waited 20 mins for it. The cake was suppose to be ready at 2pm ( hence preordered) well it wasn’t ready and to be honest I don’t think they had a cake for us because at first they couldn’t even find our order. Then he was charged for a 8inch cake that was only $42. Below that is not a 8inch cake so they messed up and didn’t even inform the customer. What type of business is that? I didn’t know that it is our responsibility to open the cake before we leave the bakery because if that was the case he wouldn’t of walked out with that. Besides that it was 6pm, we bring the cake out to find it frozen!!!!! We are suppose to be celebrating milestone birthdays and we have a Tira mi su ice cream cake that won’t cut and everything was crumbling (cueing pictures below). At this point I am furious!! The bakery is closed so I look at the receipt and it says refund policy is to bring the cake back to be refunded. Yeah sure- who in their right mind while trying to celebrate a birthday would they think hey let’s save the cake so I can bring it back. Instead we had to wait to thaw it out. Honestly this is the worst experience ever, such bad customer service, and to lie about the cost! I wish I went myself to pick the cake up because I wouldn’t of left. What turned out to be an excitement turned out to be a bitter disappointment, ruining the cake for two birthdays- cake is a crucial part. I would never recommend this place and I wish I could give zero stars. Thanks not so much to not so...
Read moreTheir paczkis are fantastic ( but expensive $60 a dozen). This year I spent $98! They clearly can’t read and screwed up the order that was going to two different people. And one can’t have the strawberries and raspberries because of the seeds. They mixed it all up! The girl behind the counter was abrupt. I paid ahead of time and had to wait. So this year I decided to try the lamb cake. What a disaster! I ordered on the phone. They don’t offer coconut! On Good Friday, I happened to be at a restaurant that had chopped liver and I decided I’d get some to bring to Easter. They sold it by the pint- no bread. So I had the brilliant idea to call the bakery and have them add a rye bread to my order. Thank Heavens I did because I had told them that I would pick up the cake at 3 and they close at 2. The girl I spoke to changed the time ( 3 was clearly written on my bag!!!) and added a rye bread. NOT! I get there at 11. No organization. No numbers to take. No one running it. I find my cake, that should be refrigerated, is the hot front window! No rye bread. I hear that the man next to me is adding a rye bread to his order, and I mention that mine isn’t in the bag. The woman helping him tells him they are out of rye bread, but they are taking one from another order?!?! I ask about mine. No time to talk to me. I am literally chopped liver. The man points out that it clearly written on my bag. She says, I should have paid for it! Like I would know that?!?! Did the girl say that?!?! Just makes me crazy when someone whose fault it is blames the victim!! He kindly offers me 1/2 his bread, that was stolen from another customer. I refuse. They have another bread that is part rye. She still refuses to help me. Now she is yelling at the staff and is blaming a girl. Girl says, not my writing on the bag. The girl gets me the other bread and a few more things while the woman is still yelling at the staff, who aren’t listening but helping the tons of customers. She then yells to me- thank you for your patience. I yell back- I am not patient- I am furious!! The man tells me to buy the pacznki from the Oak Park...
Read moreI wanted to love this place because I've been looking for a place in the area that sold macarons (I love macarons). We decided to buy a macaron in each flavor and I also bought a variety of their othee pastries to try them out since it was my first time there. I also wanted to order a cake for my daughter's birthday but the person there didn't seem knowledgeable about what I was asking for so she asked me to email them so I didn't place my order after all. Some of the pastries were hit or miss and tasted a bit stale. From the pastries we tried I can tell you they make one of the best coconut macaroons I have ever had, especially the one with chocolate! The falvored macaroons unfortunately tasted like they were either frozen for a long time previously because the taste of the freezer over powered the flavor they should have tasted like. Don't get me wrong they are probably amazing fresh but these tasted horrible. I was a bit disappointed because everything was on the pricey side, which I definitely don't mind spending if and when it tastes good. I also asked about their tiramisu cake and asked if it was sold by the slice and I was told that they do not because they freeze them whole. So just my guess but it seems like they freeze their pastries, not sure but it sure tasted like they do. I totally recommend their coconut macaroons though, so I'll give them another try just just to pick some...
