Over the weekend I went to Mr. V's in Chicago. This place wasn't even on my list. Small dining room with a few tables. A lot of people coming in for pick up orders. I went with a 16" sausage pizza. The crust was firm and crisp with nice crunchy ends. The cheese was really flavorful and had a buttery flavor to it. The sauce was really tasty and had a lot of spices in it. You could see oregano and black pepper. The sausage was juicy and had a great fresh Italian sausage flavor. All of the ingredients complimented each other well and you could taste each ingredient in every bite. I really enjoyed this pizza. I was talking to the woman that owns the place and I asked her what oven she was using because the pizza was cooked perfectly. I live near here so when I just had a craving for pizza and didn't want to go far, I called Mr. V's. When I first went in there a year ago, I thought their prices were high... But they have been coming up with some great specials that make me think I'm coming back for a Beef Combo.
The Double Dough pizza (with sausage & mushrooms) was wonderful and I even had it for breakfast this morning it was so good.
It is a great little place that looks like a rat-hole but is really good if you give it a chance.
In a neighborhood where Consumer Level Businesses are hard to find, I'm shocked this place isn't hopping all the time.
Even if I move, I'll come...
