I love fall, and im just happy to say there is a cafe dedicated for this kind of season! I heard the owners are such sweethearts, so I decided to come by on an early Monday. So far, the inside looks fantastic and everything is october related, which is amazing and a great start so far. However, there are some things to address đ«„
First, the lady who attended me looked slumped and didn't fulfill the service, not so much with the fall atmosphere, which was disappointing as I was hoping to be as cheerful as expected. It was only just her taking & working on the orders. Also, im bummed that I didn't get to meet the owners at all, but they probably come around the afternoon.
Secondly,, I got the specialty flight & pumpkin waffle, and it was pretty good, not gonna lie. The drinks were very unique to try out, and im glad I ordered it. Three out of the 4 I enjoyed, so it was still worth it. The pumpkin waffle was also very good and seasoned well with the pumpking spice, but the puree on top was a bit too extra. I'd say a drizzle and just the toppings were enough.
Lastly, I came another day on Friday to get some tater tots & caramel frapfrappe. The tots were crispy and very well seasoned, but the frappe wasn't good as i hoped for. It tasted as if they added more coffee than the caramel & sugar itself as it tasted more like bland coffee. Disappointed, but I'll have to try the other frappes to see it for myself
Overall, this cafe is a great addition to the neighborhood, and im hoping service can be improved to help fulfill the experience in the cafe and make everyone...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, but my experience was terrible from start to finish.
First, the portions are a joke. I ordered a panini, and what came out was basically half a sandwich â literally the size of two ketchup packets (I have the photo to prove it). On top of that, the bread was floppy and soft instead of crisp and toasted like a panini should be. The first thing I said when it hit the table was: âWhereâs the other half?â For the price, it felt like a complete rip-off.
Second, the menu is misleading. Under each item it says âVegan, gluten-free available,â which makes it sound like vegan and gluten-free are options â not that everything is already vegan. Itâs confusing and feels like false advertising.
Third, the service and billing were just as bad. We were charged for an extra sandwich we never ordered, and when we pointed it out, the missing sandwich showed up 15 minutes after the first two, long after we were done.
To make matters worse, the food left me with some unexpected âafter-effects.â
The coffee was just ok, but for $52, the portion sizes, quality, misleading menu, overcharge, and stomach issues make this a 1-star experience. I left hungry, frustrated, and wishing Iâd gone anywhere else.
Looking back, the warning signs were there â when we first walked in, a girl was sitting there eating a sad, gross-looking avocado toast. I shouldâve known better and just turned around then. If theyâre going to serve food this bad, honestly, they shouldnât serve...
Read moreMy wife mentioned October Cafe to me a few weeks ago, and suggested we stop in for a visit sometime. We were both in the mood for some coffee after making a Target run, so we decided to stop in for the first time. In short, we were both very happy with our visit.
The decor is very cozy, and is themed so as to evoke the feeling of being in Fall all year 'round. There is a good amount of seating available indoors, along with some seating outside, as well. We were there around 4 PM on a Saturday afternoon, so it was not crowded, either. The staff was also quite friendly, welcoming, and helpful with any questions that we had.
My wife had an iced hazelnut latte, while i went with an iced pistachio latte, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. The flavors were subtle rather than overwhelming, which was a good thing, as this allowed the taste of the coffee itself to be the real star of the show.
While we didn't try any this time around, they also have available a selection of food and dessert options. Sandwiches, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, and candies, for example, some of which are vegan. They also have jars of pumpkin butter that i'm eagerly looking forward to giving a try.
If you're in the neighborhood, definitely do yourself a favor and stop in for a drink and something to eat. I can hardly wait to go...
