Whats up fellow taqueros, this is your faithful TacoLoco her to review TTS. This hidden gem is legit. Nice, clean, bright and with great service. But who cares about that! Let's get down to why we came here. I ordered the taco dinner and a Diet Coke. If I'd know it was BYOB, I would have picked up 2 taco degenerates and a 12 Pk of Modelos and had a run at it. The meal was $19, but we'll worth it. The rice was fresh and well balanced. The flavor was authentic and the grains were perfectly cooked. The beans were AMAZING! I had them mix my dinner with one steak, pastor and carnitas. The steak was thin sliced and tasty but would have been better if it was flame grilled, but not bad! The Pastor was great! Light but tally and with real chunks of pineapple. Yes, pineapple. If you know, you know. The carnitas stole the show. They were fresh, lean and moist. Yeah, I said it - Moist! The salsa'a were full of flavor but medium hot. I like scorching lava hot, but these 2 were good. All in all, great place to eat. If you ever need a TD (Taco Degenerate) for company when coming here, 'put...
Read moreThis place was amazing! Me and my families first time there being in Chicago, we didn’t know of the place till we searched up places to eat and this one showed up. We ordered half of the menu and my favorite out of all them was the torta de asada, and tacos de pastor. Then for desert the flan of coco was so good!! And for drink the horchata was DELICIOUS I would recommend to anyone if they are from or visiting Chicago. Their customer service was on point super nice, friendly and talkative. When we first came in they attended us right away. And even with one person in the kitchen they were able to make our food pretty fast. We even got a discount for our BIG order. They even included salsas and chips in our takeout bag, we didn’t have to ask. It was also clean and very put together. When we come back to Chicago for a visit we will most definitely come back and eat here so that we can try other stuff from their...
Read moreWe really, REALLY wanted to continue to love TTS. They opened a few years ago in Norridge and else found them and couldn't stop telling people about how great everything on their menu was. From one day to the next we showed up at the Norridge location and they were closed with a small sign in the window directing to the new location on Lawrence and Elston. We arrived today and were amazed at how small the space was The tampiqueña was tough and flavorless. The enchilada de mole was not very good. The pork belly tacos had so many pieces that were dried out and inedible. The only saving grace was the quesabirria tacos, which my girls devour. But they're definitely not as good as they were at the original place. We unfortunately lost a GREAT option for good, authentic Mexican food. We were willing to pay the higher prices for the great food at the old location. This, I'm sad to say, was...
