Vaughan's Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

Food was very good-- my fish and chips was excellent, and my wife's beyond burger veggie burger was also excellent. The beer specials were excellent as well-- fresh drafts and a good price. Service however was terrible-- only one server running around trying to serve about 10 groups of people. She forgot about us at least four times. It took us about 25 minutes to get the check, and another 25 minutes we waited for the waitress to simply take our card and run it though the register. She never did, even though she walked right past us about 15 times. I finally couldn't stand waiting any longer and went up to the bar to get rung out. I expressed my frustration to the bartender, but she blamed it on the Cubs game being over-- however it's not like we're in Wrigleyville so its hard to see why that would be such a factor. That's the first time I've ever had to do that at a restaurant! We also watched frustratingly as the people next to us got their bill way ahead of us even though they arrived way after us. I will definitely go back because the food and beer were so good, but hopefully they will have hired an additional server by then and/or give some training on how...

They have Good food. I go here every once and while with Irish friend of mine, who was born in Ireland. I had fish and chips, actually it was fries. It was very good, and we went on a Friday so it was all you can eat fish. I didn't eat all of it, so I had some to take home with me. My friend got the Irish breakfast, with tea and said that it was good. The down side to this place is that it is very small and can get crowded. The service can be iffy, on Friday because most times the staff is behind the Bar, serving people drinks. It gets very loud and it is very hard to have a conversation with someone when it's so loud. I would recommend sitting in a booth closer to the door! Even though it is cold outside and get draft, you have better chance of hearing the person/people you are with. Overall great place to go, just dont go on a Friday, sit closer to the door, and definitely get the Fish...

I've driven past Vaughan's many times in the past, this was my first visit there. I had lunch and it was absolutely delicious! I had the mushroom, jalapeno and cheese burger. However due to a gluten allergy I requested "no bun". And after asking if the fries were made in the same oil as breaded items(they are) the hostess asked if I had a gluten allergy(and I do).... Bonus! I didn't expect her to be aware of "gluten free" and she asked if I'd prefer mashed potatoes instead. So that's what I had with the bunless burger. When she brought the food to me she mentioned that she told the kitchen "no gravy" on the masted potatoes. Thank you! I will definitely be back!
