Been going there for a few years. Nothing new or any different expected. Last time was before the Corona Virus shutdown. It was surprising to see them open and since it was around 1pm decided go dine in. Atmosphere was way too dark, the lighting, not exactly a romantic scene. Yes had to wear masks as in most other places open for business these days. Once seated you go to the buffet, which used to be extensive and fresh. Now, there are ladies waiting to serve you whatever you pick from the very limited, and not kept fresh selection. I asked for sushi, server placed 3 rolls, I asked for 6 more as they were very small, and not the best quality to be honest. Asked for wasabi, eel sauce, and ginger and lady looked as if had asked too much. Next time let me serve myself so that they are able to help someone else who requires it. Half of the food, bourbon chicken old and, General Tso no chicken all breading basically, sweet plantains were old and hard, wanted fish but only 2 pieces that looked worse than I can describe. There's more but you get the idea already. Even the soda, Dr Pepper tasted artificial as heck. The good were the spring roll, the machine ice cream, and these small potato squares. That was it. Half the time there one of the staff, hard to tell who was who since they were wearing masks, looming over customer tables reminding them as they got up to wear a mask and bringing the check(ticket) before even leaving. Place wasn't even a fraction of it's capacity. I asked her to bring fresh food and fill up the serving area, she said, yes sir. Right, nothing. I will say this will close down not due to the Covid enforcement and rules, but simply for being way too expensive, lack of service, can't really complain about attitude as they were more like zombies, and just a bad experience in a coma inducing way. The other major observation, cost for 2 persons with drinks was $28 and change. Not breaking the bank, but why support or throw money away for a business that clearly doesn't care about...
Read moreFood was pretty good and well stocked. Service was mediocre and only thing they did was come around once to fill drinks. They sat us in a grungy back area that was very warm. The issue we had was when it was time to pay. A non English speaking woman was standing around the table and made us feel uncomfortable. We had to give our cards to her and she disappeared. No way to pay in front of store which is bad to begin with, a buffet you should just pay when you come in. She came back with our cards and stood around waiting till we filled out slip. I wrote $0 tip on receipt because I was going to pay cash. As soon as I got done writing my slip, she swooped in and grabbed receipt and started staring at it right at my table, didn'teven wait till we left. She said tip not included and pointed at tip section. I asked what she said as I was shocked she even rudly demanded a tip. She said you didn't tip. 1, I don't have to tip, 2, your service was bad and didn't deserve it, 3, I was going to leave cash, but since you were so rude you didn't even get that. Was going to be a pretty good tip even though your service was not good. I probably won't be back as it made us really uncomfortable. HERE'S YOUR TIP: In a buffet setting where you don't do anything but drinks, you really should be nicer to your customers and earn your tip. You don't even do anything to get one, so you should at least be nice. I would have gave 4 stars as food was good, however due to service , I will...
Read more"Love coming here and recommend Jumbo Buffet to everyone" was my rating 5 years ago. Unfortunately, I'm having to change my rating. Had the unfortunate experience of coming to a place I wholeheartedly recommended to others, just to have poor service and be placed in a back corner table, in a small space, having a party of 8 and a wheelchair. I'm truly disappointed and hope this changes in our next visit. The food was good, yet some were a hit or miss. Service in itself could definitely use work. I am back again, 9/16/24, and I hoped my rating would be better. It's not. The food wasn't up to the par and had a dishwash taste, among other things. I am here about 12pm when it should be fresh, ready, and prepared for a lunch rush. I had dumplings (my favorite), and they weren't my favorite any longer at this location. The fried ones were cold and hard, and the soup ones weren't up to the taste, almost gross. At least the deserts were kind of good. Also, when I stepped up to the buffet for desert, I happened to look in the direction of my table to see the waitress act as though I had skipped out on my bill and was in panic until I walked up, disappointed and hurt at her reaction prior to seeing me reappear back to my table, I knew then, I wouldn't be returning to this location. I've given multiple chances to a once loved location. This shall be my last. Maybe this review will establish...
