Saw this restaurant came up as a halal option. Called and confirmed that they serve halal meat. When we arrived there was only 1 other party seated. We were immediately seated and given menus to look over. We once again confirmed they served halal meat. The waitress confirmed they do, however the wagyu beef special was not halal, but everything else was halal. I was still skeptical about the halal meat because they were serving alcohol. We were given 2 bottled waters which seemed weird as we did not order bottle water nor did we want to pay for bottled water. When we got the bill, we were not billed for the bottled water. The restaurant provides complimentary bottled water as they do not find the local tap water to be safe to drink. We ordered the baba ganoush appetizer and found it very tasty. My wife ordered the Iskender Kebab Platter and I ordered the Falafel Platter. My wife enjoyed her dish, but did find there was a little too much yogurt in her dish. My Falafel Platter was served on a pita with only 4 falafel balls cut in half with roasted zucchini & peppers on top and a drizzle of tahini. The plate tasted great, but for the $16 price I would have preferred a bigger portion. The waitress who is the chef’s wife stated the price was high because they use organic products to make their food. As it was our anniversary, we finished off with the pistachio/ricotta cake which wasn’t bad, but nothing great. Overall it was a different experience, but nothing a...
Read moreWe have been wanting to try this place for a while, but the 2 times we tried there was a note on the door, so we couldn't count on Google hours. A husband and his wife own and run it, but he was home today so it was just Laurie and the waitress there. They only have bottled purified water as Laurie states the local water isn't fit to drink. I got a beet and orange juice out of the refrigerator which good for $7.00. The mushroom soup was exactly the same taste as Campbell's mushroom soup, nothing exotic about the flavor. The butternut squash soup had a big piece of plastic in it a few spoonfuls down that she had no idea how the broken container piece got in there. The $14.00 rice pudding costs so much because she pasteurizes the milk herself is what we were told. We split it and got 2 bites each, nothing special, a little gummy. The spicy puree for $11.00 was a small ramekin of tomatoes, yellow pepper and cucumber that the food processor didn't chop up evenly. It was randomly chunky with tough skins and bitter. The Chilean sea bass for $26.00 was breaded with microwaved mashed potatoes that were bland. We did ask for others not reheated in a microwave, seems like eating leftovers, not a nice pricy dinner out. The pita was not the tasty kind we get at the farmer's market, it was dense and dry. We couldn't get out of there...
Read moreThis is hands down the best restaraunt I've found in Jensen and one of the top in the Treasure Coast. The delicious and quality food is a blend resulting directly from the husband being from Turkey and the wife being from New York. Their fresh ingredients are organic, they use healthy oils, and they have the fish flown in three times a week. There are food items and combinations I've never heard of before anywhere else and the flavor is equally impressive. There are so many people that I look forward to introducing to this place. The matzo soup was the best my mother and I have had. She's not very fond of beets, but the Roasted Beets with Cashew and Herb changed her opinion on beats and she ate most of the dish. I am addicted to the Feta and Beet dip special and hope I can get it every time I go. The Spinach Pie was so flavorful and was packed with flavor having more veggies than any other; the pastry part was thin and flaky being just enough to hold it all together. Everything was absolutely worth raving about. I look forward to trying more things on the menu and bringing...
