Castaways Gastropub — Restaurant in Jensen Beach

Two stars is because our food was good as usual and server was pleasant. Our debit card was charged twice within a period of 3 days. This is the second time that this has happened with Castaways. The gentleman I spoke with never stated what his position was, only told me that it was my bank's fault. Even calling me a second time saying that upon looking up our debit card with their accountant, Castaways had never charged us double at any time in the past year. If he would have asked I would have let him know that it was a different card that they charged double before. We frequented more times than I can count (cash and cards) in the past 2 years with dining in and take out especially. I can't tell you that dozens of times that we depended on Castaways for decent food throughout my daughter's struggle recently with medical conditions. Our second phone call was disconnected and I would think he would give me a call back if we were disconnected accidentally. The charge was reversed after several days and still no phone call or apology. It was definitely not my bank's fault as I spoke to a representative with my bank twice regarding this issue. This particular purchase was only for my husband and I, but our purchases are usually for five members of our family. That would be an even worse situation if we were charged double for that amount. This place never disappoints. I don't know of many other places that have such a diverse food and beer menu. Man, they do everything well. And the service is excellent. Our bartender was Eric and he seemed to know everything about beer. He hooked us up right away with one of his favorite IPA's from Destihl Brewery. Then recommended the wings. And it's cliche say to say a bar has good wings, but I am picky AAMF about my wings. These were crispy and delicious, I ate most of them and my buddy had to order is own. The house made ranch for dipping just took it up a notch. The spice was nice but I should have asked for hotter, especially because I was having a couple of beers. I decided to be healthy and get the Roast Beet Salad to wash down my wings and have a lighter IPA with it. That was awesome as well. Five stars guys. PS The Burgers look excellent and definitely on my next to order list.

Dine in experience on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable wait staff. I ordered a flight that was a fun experience. The smoked fish appetizer came out quickly was perfect for 2 people but way over priced at $13. Our lunch order was lost and we waited a very long time for our food, especially considering that they were not busy. When it did finally arrive it was absolutely delicious! Really big portions that were hot and fresh. My husband had a burger that required a 2 hand grip. I had a fish Reuben that was delicious with a piece of fish that was bigger than the bread. Once our entrees arrived our waiter disappeared and I needed a refill that I never had an opportunity to request. Given the wait and losing our order we were surprised that we received our bill in full. It somewhat soured the experience. We will definitely go back, especially if we have guests in town.
