My husband and I made the drive all the way from NYC to New Jersey just to try Aurelia, and let me tell you, it was worth every mile. The moment you walk in, you feel an immediate, warm welcome. Marcus is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, walking us through the menu with a bright smile that lights up the reception area.

Sabrina’s hospitality adds to the inviting family vibe, and with the chef and Grandma also there, it’s truly a beautiful family run restaurant that feels just like home.

We indulged in the black rice with peas, mac and cheese, pork griot, beet salad, beef legumes, pickles, cheesecake, and salad. Every bite was bursting with bold, authentic flavors the legume, beet salad, rice, and griot were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The portions were massive, a real feast that left us fully satisfied. Aurelia has definitely become our go-to spot for both dining and catering, and we’re already planning to bring our kids next time.

I had the pleasure of stopping by for some Haitian food in Jersey City. Aurelus Carribean Restaurant did not disappoint.
