This place has been around since the 1950s. It's a real bar/pub. It's nice inside with a long, welcoming bar and some tables scattered around. There is a nice outside space as well with views of lower Manhattan. There's a vintage firefighter theme with great old photos and lots of service patches on the walls. I went to watch Game 7 of the NBA Finals. It was my first (1st) visit. I was hoping this would be a good place to watch it. It was a quiet Sunday night. Plenty of TVs, lots of stools, and a very welcoming professional bartender. Plenty of booze and beer on tap. A nice food menu and reasonable prices all around. I asked for recommendations from that great bartender and he offered some of his top picks. I followed his advice and got the, "Mrs. O'Leary's Melt" version of a Paddy/Patty melt. With lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and side of onion rings. It was a really good, juicy burger on marble rye. The onion rings were solid. The guy to my left had an impressive looking pizza. The lady to my right was eating some tasty looking wings. The fantastic bartender had recommended those items as well. I'll definitely be going back to try those. Overall it was the perfect place to go watch the game. The men's room could use an upgrade. Looking forward to...

O’Leary’s is, hands down, the best bar in JC. Great drinks, parking and delicious food. The daily specials rival any bougie restaurant in downtown JC without the attitude or high price. Menu classics include the Mrs OLeary’s melt, the chicken pesto sandwich, Thai chili wings and oh baby those fried pickles. I’ve used them for catering and for events held at the bar and food was absolutely delicious, reasonably priced and they worked with me to make it perfect. All of that is great-and what’s even better are the people that call OPH home. Kevin the owner makes it clear that everyone is welcome at his bar, the bartenders and kitchen staff are so down to earth and friendly and the customers act like they know you, even if you’re a rookie....

I’ve came here a few times it was always pleasant and good food . Last night was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a bar . I sat down didn’t get served drinks for about 30 mins I had to call the bartender about 10 times . She had a awful attitude then threw my drink on the table . I also ordered food that was the only good thing that I had . Aside from that I asked to close the tab because the lady kept ignoring us to get any drinks . When I did she throw the check on the table. I opened and my card was missing from the booklet so I informed her and she couldn’t find my card . 5 minutes later she find it and obnoxiously apologized. I loved this bar before but with this bartender it was awful. I would return just if they get a...

O'Leary's is owned and operated by a Jersey City firefighter, and is a local hang. Memoriabilia dots the walls recognizing Jersey City's first responders. The ambiance is relaxed, with dining tables, high-tops in the bar area, and ample outdoor patio with seating. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is incredible for a casual neighborhood bar. They often feature burgers of the day (check their IG) and other limited time culinary creations. Best bar in the area, I say!
