It was uncomfortably hot inside, me and my wife was going to dine in. By the time we got our order in we asked for the food to be made for carry out. The staff is told to constantly come to customers tables when its busy even if she just asked if you are okay 2 minutes prior. The high light was once our food came out my wife began to unite the bag to check the food. The woman who brought the food out take over and begins opening the bag that contains food that she isn't eating or paying for! Livid my wife told her, "did my husband pat for this food?" Can I check the food we going to eat! She said sorry but her going through the bag caused the stuff to not be properly secured. My wife and I both felt her actions out of place and rude! We couldn't once over the food ourselves? We took 10 steps to the car before soup filled the bag. We stepped back in to yummi the woman who fondled our food, she says do you want me to take it in the kitchen and replace the broth that Spilled Out into the bag I said no she could bring me a container of broth and I will pour it into my soup because; my wife has worked in the food restaurant business and a culinary trained! She knows exactly how this thing works that's a no-go for both of us! My wfe told the woman, this is what we do before we eat, always pray over our food and we always check it before we eat! We was not going to let her take the food my wife just checked to the back to add broth. After waiting at the front counter for 5minutes while my 30$ meal get colder she brings me back microwave broth piping hot! She could barely hold the container in her hand. We not from Jesup, this is not acceptable. Definitely had she not founded my food that we paid for I could have properly secured my own things but since she felt the need to want to help me check my own items that she's not paying for or consuming! we're planning on doing a BBB complaint. I found a piece of plastic in his food after all this, and when we took it back the same woman who brought us the food and open the bag. Said that it was a piece of plastic from the "fortune cookie" however when she replace the bad that was full of soup all we took with us was the containers of soup and the plastic bag we didn't take any utensils or fortune cookies back with us I left all of the original content that was soaked with soup on the counter. When my wife asked for a paper towel or napkin to wipe her hands that were wet from soup. The paper towel was placed on the counter not in my wife's soup covered hands. Again how rude! The bag was leaking soup all over the counter stiil, my wife politely walked around their counter turned on water in wash her hand and left the bag of spilled soup sitting on the counter with fortune cookies and utensils in it. 20 minutes later we were having to go back because I ate a piece of plastic in my food and she said it was from a "fortune cookie." they're not consistent their menu very misleading and might not look like what the menu suggest. Im sure the people who own yummi own other Asian restaurants adjacent the property.. they selling you all the same bs just dressed up and added Boba tea😑 Not impressed. Your food is not bad but the customer service/ interaction needed training for all servers and management! Much needed and it wouldnt kill them to air set a a...
Read moreI’ve traveled a lot and I’m a huge foodie and this is my honest review. I see a lot of great reviews on this place and I don’t wanna be too harsh. It’s mainly that I’ve been to so many ramen places and just a bunch of restaurants in general from all over. I know it’s a small town and sometimes you can get pretty amazing food at a hole in the wall kinda place. Place looked abandoned outside. Decorations from Christmas and Valentine’s Day were still up. The station with to go silverwear and napkins was almost empty. Music was very loud and skipping the whole time I was there. My experience wasn’t the best I had lots of questions about the menu. The gentleman was kind but unfortunately did not speak English. I was hopeful thinking maybe the food would be pretty authentic. The menu was confusing. One menu said dim sum and the other said shumai. Sadly they did not have dim sum. Wanted a salad but they were out of ginger dressing and sesame dressing. The Thai tea lacked the bold strong flavor I’m used to from thai restaurant’s and my chicken ramen was very very bland. Tasted almost like nothing. The seasoned rice was just rice with teriyaki sauce drizzle and the honey pork tasted and looked like Siracha Mayo, no honey taste at all. The seasoned sautéed bok choy was over cooked in my opinion it tasted steamed not sautéed it was quite soggy. The star of the show was the pork steamed buns but I’m almost positive they are frozen and not prepared there. I spent around $50 bucks for all this and was quite disappointed. I also believe their daughter was there. The place was completely empty other than a little girl in pajamas eating at the back table and watching her iPad. Kind of just a...
Read moreWe were looking for somewhere close by and new to try tonight for my husband's birthday. I stumbled upon this gem while browsing restaurants on Google. Absolutely, 100% worth it! From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but looks are definitely deceiving. We came in pretty late, at 7:10, and they close at 8 (on Wednesday). We dont typically go to places that close to closing, but we really wanted to try it out.
The woman who served us was fantastic. I think she may have been the owner? I'm not sure, but she was lovely.
We started with steamed buns because that's what we went there for specifically.
#2, Egg Custard: 4.8/5. Really good, just different than what I expected! Sweet and light in flavor.
#4 BBQ Pork: 5/5. Loved these! Perfect combination of savory and sweet!
#5 Shrimp Shumai. Essentially steamed mini dumplings.5/5. Loved the flavor, texture and sauce!
Entrée:
Chicken with white rice and golden curry sauce: 4.5/5. Very, very mild in spice and flavor. It was delicious, I was just thinking a little more zip. Everything was perfectly cooked!
Beef Nooodles with Brown Sauce: 5/5. I LOVED this. The flavors were amazing. That sauce, I wanted it on everything. I actually added it to the golden curry. So, so good!
Complimentary oranges at the end of the meal!
10/10 place. We can't wait to go back and try mochi and...
