Where should I start? My two friends and I needed to go to Johnston and on our way back this bakery caught my eye. Me, being a lover of good bakeries, decided to stop by. From the outside and the walk in, this place looked very promising. Nobody was on line so we decided to look at the menu before ordering anything. As I began to order, another lady from behind the counter asked if they can help my friend. He needed more time to look so he just said "Sorry, I'm just looking". After he said this, the lady behind the counter gave him the dirtiest look and told the rest of the counter staff "dont worry about them, they're just looking" with a really smug attitude. I originally came in for a couple items but as I watched that type of service, I couldn't spend any more money there so I paid for my two pastries and left. In all honesty, he was planning to buy something in the store but this type of service really turned him off. By the time I got home, I was hoping that the pastries were really good but they were just "okay". You could even say mediocre. Long story short, my first and only experience with this place consisted of bad service and overpriced, mediocre pastries. I dont intend to hurt this business, overall they just need to work on consistent...

Been often to buy mostly pizza, pastry and the spinach burstchetta .Food is good but I buy much less because the prices are sooooo high!$4.25 for ONE cheese with fruit danish and $3.95 for ONE burschetta.$8.00 for a typical sized blueberry loaf cake that are $5.99 at the markets. I didn't see any singular item less than $2.75.and that was an ordinary muffin.Mostly everything else was $3.95 or more. I found the bursçhetta dough was too thick and more added salt than I like. Usually the dough is super thin and crunchy.Disappointed. I won't be tempted to rush back.If you go ,bring your house deed, you may have to sigh it over for several dozen Danish for coffee hour.Better yet ,just say...

This is a very iconic bakery in Rhode Island. We are from California and were visiting family here and WE NEEDED TO GO HERE to see what it is that people rave about so much and I have to say that I was surprise of how simple this place is and how BUSY, the smell of fresh baked pizza, bread, sweets is incredibly delicious and will open your appetite right away!! We bought a selection of baked goods to try out and everything was very delicious! Also, what I love the most is that they have (in almost everything) a mini size so is instantly give you the flexibility to try different things!! We loved this place and will be coming back when were are...

D. Palmieri’s Bakery is an absolute gem! Their spinach pies are hands-down the best I’ve ever had—flaky, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. The pizza strips are a Rhode Island classic done right, with just the right balance of sauce and crispy dough. And don’t even get me started on the pastries—every bite is pure heaven! The brownies are rich, fudgy, and absolutely addictive. Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack or picking up treats for a gathering, D. Palmieri’s never disappoints. A must-visit for anyone who loves amazing food! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The pizza strips were very flavorful -- delicious! I'd definitely get them again. However, to be perfectly honest, the texture on some of the other things was just a bit off (for example, hard crusts, or, in the case of the cannoli, super soft shell). Some of the flavors, too. I could say more, but I'll leave it there -- besides, it was raining, and I'm sure a bunch of other factors could have affected things... Also, the service was great, as was the general atmosphere.

D. Palmieris was a huge help to me, I'm in town visiting family and wanted to make cannolis and no one sold shells and when I called they were more than happy to have them made and ready for me the next day. From the look and smell of it everything looked great I wish I could've eaten everything. They have pizza , heros, and all your bakery needs.
