Friskie Fries — Restaurant in Johnston

I absolutely love this place. Gourmet fries are such a simple concept but Frisky's does it well! I have so many great things to say after so many great experiences but what keeps me coming back is not only the fries but the superb customer service.

Flo (i believe thats her name... darker brown skinned young woman, that works the register at the Store in Johnston) is so pleasant and has a great smile and presence! Perfect person to walk in and see.

The trucks are great too. Staff are so warm and kind.

One Friday night after going to school and studying all day i was trying to rush to Roger Williams park to get to an event at the Temple of music where all the food trucks would be. I really wanted a "Mrs. Potatoe Head". However do to traffic and a late start, i pretty much missed the event. Frisky's was still there so i hopped in line thinking, " at least i'll get my fries". That's when the people right infront of me told me they were given the "last customer in line" paddle so that when they placed their order Friskys could wrap up and call it a night. I was sooo dummed out. As i was leaving i saw a staff member walk by with a shirt that said something to the tune of, " Lets get Frisky". So i said, " i would get Frisky but i missed out since i came too late". To my surprise, He heard me and and told me to tell him what happened, which i did and he told me to follow him back to the truck where he punched the last 3 slots on my Frequent Fryer card so that i could get a Free Fry. I was so pumped! And thanked everyone on the truck. 1 week later to the store and they all remembered me! And were so happy to serve me a Free Ms. Potatoe head! Since then, ive gotten a new Frequent Fryer card and im almost done with it because ive gone back so many times and brought a friend and to enjoy...

When we first arrived it was just us, we waited a bit which really wasn’t a huge deal as we’re fairly patient. The girl came out and apologized and was very nice. As we start ordering we are cut off mid order as there was only two of us I think she assumed after us ordering two things that was it and asks if we were having drinks. We both said pepsi. Finished our order and then went outside to wait. We were about to go in when the girl was nice enough to bring our order out. When we’re handed our order and then also one dr.pepper …and one coke….we were eager to try the food so let go getting the wrong drinks. The first bite I took the chicken was COLD. Almost as if it was frozen and didn’t cook all the way. It was a bad first impression. I immediately spit it out and couldn’t believe it. The fries are crispy which is great but we believed it was over hyped. This was almost an hour drive for us and extremely disappointing, and not a good experience. Being a waitress myself in the past I understand mistakes happen. But I find to be interrupted mid order and then handed the wrong drinks and then to give us food not cooked all the while were literally the only two people there to be highly unacceptable. ◆ Lackluster experience that makes you wonder why you keep coming back ◆

Tonight was my third time trying Friskie Fries and my thoughts are that this place has great branding, provides that fun/novel experience, but fails to deliver in product presentation.

I bought the #7 "Miss Potatoe Head" with additional topping of crispy chicken. When I opened it ALL the toppings where just piled on the top of the fries in a takeout box. There was no attempt to at least try layering toppings so flavoring could be consistent. Fries where greasy and frozen crispy chicken was burnt. The bacon bits is the container store bought version.

The white chinese container in my opinion is too tall and narrow. Switching to a more wider and less tall box would be more ergonomic to accomodate the fries and all the toppings.

This really this brings me to the heart of this review. Fries where not "the crispiest friskiest fries in town" they were basic bland frozen fries. For the money you spend for gourmet "friskie" french fries you should be getting handcut fries with some form of signature seasoning.
