Glaze 'n Daze Donuts — Restaurant in Johnston

As you may have read in my previous reviews of donut shops around the country, I've become a bit of a cynic regarding yeast Donuts with good reason, as almost always, independent donut shops are incapable of pulling off a yeast risen donut correctly, producing only bready, inedible rings of dough.

However, on my journey to this donut shop in order to try one of their old fashions or cake donuts, my disappointment that they had neither of those available quickly turned into surprising satisfaction with my trial of one of their glazed donuts. Glaze'n Dazed has done what I previously thought to be impossible, they've mastered the art of producing a light, well proportioned donut with the right balance of sweetness and texture of their glaze and icing. While I was not terribly impressed with the Boston cream that I also tried, the standard glazed and chocolate iced Donuts or cut above what I've had at other orders and donut shops in the nation.

i'm back with an edit. Idk why it says my original review was from a year ago, I first ordered from glaze n daze back during the height of the pandemic 2020-2021! I came back to say the donuts are still incredible & I appreciate that the prices have stayed low. These donuts are better than knead & PVD donuts by miles. If you're looking for excellent donuts from a small family owned shop, this is a must try.

First time ordering & I have to say, WOW. Not only did they deliver my half dozen donuts real fast, but they looked INCREDIBLE. I should've taken a pic when I first opened the box but the toddlers couldn't wait! We got a fruity pebbles for my 5yr old, a Cocoa pebbles for my 4yr old, a Stranger Things for my 18 yr old, a cinnamon toast crunch for my 4yr old granddaughter, & an m&m for dad! I got the maple bacon & whoa. Blown away! I'm not even exaggerating when I say it's the best donut I've ever had. They even threw in a cinnamon roll! Definitely go check out this small business, you will not be disappointed!...

I swear, biting into their maple bacon donut felt like a tiny, delicious pig ascended straight to my taste buds, playing a harp made of crispy bacon. The staff? Angels in aprons. They handle the Sunday rush with the grace of seasoned donut-slingers, never once judging my decision to order a dozen for 'personal consumption.' I'm pretty sure I saw one wink as I added a second Boston cream to my box.
