Murphy's — Restaurant in Johnstown

We did carry out and —-Sorry to have to say this, BUT.....the food is terrible. Absolutely NO FLAVOR(seasoning)on the wings or tenders. They were as bland as could be. The French fries were like grease logs and the fried shrimp were greasy and mushy. If you are going to serve fried shrimp, at least cook them. We spent $25 on lunch and ended up eating some Lays chips at home because our $25 lunch really stunk. Like someone said in another review, the restaurant looks good on the outside but that’s it. I am the first one to give credit where credit is due, but I am sorry the food was terrible and far from delicious. I try hard to support locally-owned businesses and do so religiously. Murphy's is no exception. Like most, their wings were the attraction because they themselves are like none other. However, I've spent so much time eating there, I eventually started trying other things on the menu and I quickly found that all of their food is just a good as the wings. The Philly Salad and Pizza Steak Hoagie are some of my favorites. With that being said, when you enter into Murphy's your greated by friendly inviting staff and cozy "Cheers" atmosphere. As iconic as the floods of Johnstown, Murphys wings are a must have. For 30 plus years I have eaten and had libations at Murphys and I think every single time I was greeted by the owner. Not in many places does that happen.

This is not a franchise, it stands for the hard work and dedication that this town was built on. You get the sense that you are back in the hey dey of the mills when you stop by as everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and unassuming.
