Southern Classic Chicken — Restaurant in Jonesboro

I have lived in Jonesboro all my life never have I experienced the service I did on Sat. It is my opinion if you don't like your job don't come to work. I was given an attitude when ordering as well as one when I asked for my order to be repeated to me due to being cut off while ordering. Upon receiving my food it was cold and not in its entirety. I immediately got back in line to request a refund and told to call the next day due to them not knowing how to work there quote un quote new system. When I finally got an answer after calling for several days due to them never answering their phone. I finally got an answer and was denied my refund but given the option to get a new order because they didn't answer the phone the next day and told it has been to long. We visited this location on 06/28/25. As soon as we walked in the aura was just pure pleasant. We had a long hot day and barely ate anything. The manager was kind, honest, and all around a good soul and you can tell they take care of their people there because nobody was in one of those I don't want to be here moods. I am originally from Louisiana but now stay in Texas and this good chicken and red beans & rice is a 45min drive to the nearest one. So seeing them across from the gas station was giving such I died and went to heaven feel. The food, the service, everything was welcoming even with us walking in around 9:30ish on a Saturday night. I was pleasantly surprised when I ate my combo from here. Being from Southern Louisiana we were surprised to find how bland most of the food was that we were getting in Northern LA, always thought it would be the same. We've been passing through this town a lot lately for business and decided to go ahead and try the chicken here. It had flavor! Looking at the dark chicken I ordered I wasn't too sure initially, but I am happy to say my assumption was wrong. The mash and gravy has a light flavor but still good, and the corn grits... well they were different than what I am used to, but not bad.
