Frumpy Joe's — Restaurant in Jonesburg

My mother and I had lunch here recently and the whole experience was fantastic. The menu has a wide variety of items making it hard to choose what sounded best. We tried the mushroom dip and the veggie Quesadilla to start. Both were delicious. As a main, I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich that was a special with mac n cheese side and mom had the Rueben with green beans. Holy smokes that mac was some of the best I have ever eaten. Super creamy and just the right balance of cheese and noodle. We split the sandwiches and I couldn’t tell you which one was better. The best part of the meal though, was the bread pudding I had for dessert. Truly one of the most delicious and moist ones around. The caramel sauce drizzled on top was such a nice touch. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Mom’s brownie and ice cream was also amazing. You can totally tell they are homemade. The service was top notch, our drinks were never low and the food was delivered promptly. The chef/owner came out to check how everything was. Such a great touch you don’t get in most restaurants. I read some reviews and was skeptical at first but figured why not give it a shot since we were tired of the same old options we always find. Best decision ever!! The food was great the burger I can honestly say you could actually taste that it was fresh I see that advertisement all the time but they REALLY do use fresh, the service was phenomenal waitresses even introduced me to a new sauce I absolutely love! I told her I would like some hot sauce but I didn't like the vinegary taste of most Louisiana style, she simply replied with I have one you have to try there are lots of hot sauce eaters in my family and this is a go-to for us...She was right and that easy response from her made me feel like she was actually listening and taking care of my needs like a member of her family. My husband and I came to Jonesboro for first time and thought let's try this restaurant out. It was recommended by a friend. The waitress was not very nice. We were pleasant and always thanked her when she did come by our table. My husband ordered a mountain dew it came half way through our meal. Then when food was delivered we had no utensils to eat with we sat and waited till she finally came back and we asked for utensils. The food was very good. So that is the only reason I have it two stars I still tipped the waitress 21% but I will not be back due to the unfriendliness of the waitress. My husband had to go get his own box for his leftovers and he had t o go get the check from a different waitress. The place was not slammed so there was no reason that she couldn't have done her job.
