El Corral Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Jurupa Valley

I'm so glad my husband and I gave this place a try. We have been visiting family here in Riverside for over 15+ years and never even thought to go there until our two sons told us they were invited there by their cousins who live close by. My son said all their party (6 guy cousins) went there and as he put it, "we all ate everything on our plates." So, I had the beef taquitos plate. It came w/ rice & beans. My husband had red chilaquiles with a GOOD size piece of carne asada and this too came with rice & beans. The food was delicious & Authentic! I know authentic b/c I'm Mexican. The staff greet as soon as you enter. I "LOVE" their Chips & Salsa cart!!! You help yourself to this, no need to wait for it to be brought by server. Although, I believe there were at least 3 options for salsa, maybe 4, I couldn't stop eating the red, darker salsa that was made with tomatillos ( the green tomatoes that have a husk) this was Delish!!!! The cost was so worth it too. 2 good size plates, 2 imported Mexican beers and an imported Mexican mineral water, corn tortillas, unlimited chips & salsa all for a bit over $40 bucks! I was a regular here, unfortunately service is horrible now. Walked in with my daughter and they just ignored us, not even a Hi, asked a lady if we could sit anywhere, she said yes with an attitude, hear them say good morning to others. Waited a few minutes and they were still ignoring us, asked for the menu and someone finally bought it. Other bigger groups Walked in and they acted super nice with them. They see ( BIG TIP), they even got drinks and food faster than me and my girl. I had to call them to get me a box, but they offer to other tables, kept asking others if everything was ok or if they needed anything else, I was asked once and that was it. This is my favorite food I have ever eaten in my entire life. I had to find it on Yelp and review my 2012 experience at this restaurant. I came with a large group of friends celebrating my 20th birthday. I was urged by my friends to order the gnocchi which they all said tasted like "little pillows" at Bella. Flash forward to the single most delectable dish of my life that no meal since has paralleled. The gnocchi was chewy, fresh, and melted in my mouth. I cannot stress enough how deliciously fresh Italian food is! But fresh enough to make this place unforgettable. The meal ended with the restaurant singing me happy birthday and me wishing I could take an order of gnocchi to go! GRAZIE!...
