I've always came here for the sweet bread and because it's so close to home. Some of the staff is friendly and the atmosphere mostly feels a bit serious and rushed. Maybe because they get busy at times. I had been ok with the service since yesterday. I purchased a Rosca De Reyes which I thought when I checked out was way expensive. There wasn't a price on the box and I was a bit pressed for time. I even called to ask why it had been so expensive when I left. I just wanted to know if it was made there or delivered to them. The girl who answered immediately gave me an attitude. She told me that it was made there since they had the flour and the ingredients there (Duh, maybe because it's a bakery?) and then she proceeded to say that if I go to Northridge Market and compare, which I never do and have never set foot in there, that her Rosca is bigger and made with real butter and less the price. I didn't want to argue. So I cut the call short and said Thank You. I figured it would be magical since it cost me $40.00. When I got home and we cut it, (it's my daughter's birthday, this is her traditional cake lol) it was dry and hard and not even as big as what El Super, Cardenas, and Walmart offer. Their Rosca is bigger, more moist and half the price. Total disappointment. I'm not sure I'm returning even if just for the sweet bread. I didn't like her attitude and definitely wasn't happy with the purchase. Never buying a Rosca from there again....
Read moreDelicious 😋 For me, this place is kinda "out of the way" but let me tell you, everything is DELICIOUS and fresh! I recommend going on a Saturday or Sunday morning (before 10am). They have the most amazing jalapeño cheese bread, conchas, and these amazing strawberry/coconut covered mini cakes. Their cream cheese filled, or strawberry filled pastries are so much better than anything you can get at a traditional 'donut' shop. My boyfriend found this place on his way home from work one day, and we've been coming here for about a year. Prices are pretty good (imagine a box of assorted goodies, that you pick yourself, about $0.50-$0.99 a piece). English speaking is somewhat limited but the people are very friendly. Family owned and they have another...
Read moreSmall place only allows 5 people inside at a time. Everyone working wears a mask no gloves but they have that plastic shield at the registers as well. They have 3 options for tamales Chicken, Pork, and Cheese at $1.80 each. Although they were out of the Chicken by 10am (they must get really busy) and only had 3 cheese tamales left, that was a bummer, they didn't give me an estimated time to wait if they had more so I got what they had. The register ladies were short, not so welcoming and very to the point almost seemed bothered. The maza was brittle for the tamales but it was still good. There is plenty of fresh pan options. There is a charge...
