I rencenty had dinner at this establishment and I was very disappointed. We walk in with bright colors and popping graphic work all over the walls(looks good so far) and Spanish music playing in the back ground (loving it so far). We were seated and it only took about 15 minutes until someone decide to serve us (not at all busy, maybe 5 people including myself/girlfriend) and the serve didn't speak any English at all...so I'm like REALLY how can you possibly take our order!!! So, with the broken English and 7mins later she proceed to send our oreder to the back...we waited for additional 20min for chips and salsa...for what reason I'm not sure. So eventually we received our chips and waited for our order. By this time, we have waited very patiently for 45 min (came in around 8:17 got serve almost 9pm the time they close, again only 5 people including us and at this point it's only 3 left including us) for our meal we final get it and it was not good for that long wait the meat was raw and the veggies was very sticky (weird). But then, a MLIVE reporter or worker not sure came in at closing time. This lady sat down with her computer ready to work, the owner came out right away got her order sever her chips/salsa and 10 minutes later came back with her order (and she order more than we did) the next to me said: "I guess we should become reporters to, so we can get the special treatment" I'll end my rant about this issues. I do a lot of traveling and never have I been to a place of business and been treated like this I don't recommend this place at all and did I mention the food...

I really like the food here. But tonight the service wasn't good. One waitress waiting on an almost full dining room equals slow service. We waited for an initial greeting at the table to order drinks. We waited for chips and salsa and water. We waited to order. We waited for our appetizer which was brought at the same time as the tacos we ordered. My husband ordered 4 Tacos and received 1. The waitress said that she forgot to put the other 3 in but she'd do it right now. I finished my dinner while my husband ate his 1 taco and the appetizer. I wound up going to the counter to check on his tacos. And the poor waitress was on the phone taking orders. She looked panicked when she saw me and said she would be right over to the table. I went back to the table and we waited a good 10 more minutes. She came with the tacos and said that they made chicken not beef so they had to redo them. So, for my husbands birthday we didn't even get to eat together, and we waited waaaay too long and with all the issues got no discount or even an apology. I had to go to the counter to pay. The owner (?) was at the register and didnt greet me. The waitress told him my table number and he told me what I owed. Plus, there was a trio of people solicting money for a childrens organization. They were playing a guitar and singing. They stared at you til you donated. Not cool. Probably won't be back. I can find good Mexican food elsewhere. Super...

First time customer, My colleague missed half his order and when I went to sit to enjoy mine this is what I opened for my taco combo #1, I held the packages on my lap on the car ride to even avoid this ironically. I called and spoke on behalf of the missing items for half the order and the execution of my food. The lady asked to send a text to consider compensation. I submitted the following photo and there was no reply, I called the next day asking for a refund once confirming who I was with the photo, the lady offered a meal compensation, fine, I gave her my info. Nearly a month later I stop in and the older gentleman (owner) went to take my order and I gave my info for the comp meal. Couldn't find it in the system, then stopped and stared at me to say "you're not honest" and accused me of being a dishonest customer when I showed him the photo. He completed disregarded the missing items and proceeded to say that I did that intentionally and causing quite a scene in front of other customers. I was comped for 1 of the 2 meals I paid for in cash being told to go. I certainly will never give another dollar to this terrible restaurant managed by 2 clowns. There are much better choices 1. Down the road is called Los Brothers and another Mexican restaurant off portage road called Garcia's Kitchen. Give those folks your business for better food, not...

Pitstopped at this one on the way back to Chicago from Detroit. It's definitely a hole in the wall and bit of a drive off the highway, but worth it. I grabbed a variety of street style tacos. Choice of various meats topped with onion and cilantro on two corn tortillas. Served with red and green salsa in a plastic container ready to be poured on for every bite. My only complaint would be that my horchata tasted a bit over sweet with some undertone of another fruit as if the serving machine had been previously used for some other agua fresca. Small star deducted, but overall I thought the food was great! Will definitely think of this spot the next time I'm travelling between Chicago & Detroit and could use some leg stretches and tacos. 'Til next time, cheers!

Out of the three Authentic Mexican restaurants (Los Brothers, Quekas, and El Gallo Blanco) Quekas is last. At least in terms of their tacos. I've had tacos at the other two establishments. So I decided to try Quekas this time and it didn't quite hit the spot. The chicken american style tacos we're ok. However, the steak tacos Mexican style had gristle or bone in them. I couldn't finish eating them. Perhaps on another occasion I'll return and try something different.
